Web2SMS Issues - Help
 

Hi,

I have installed Web2SMS, im on Vodafone Ireland, so I have put in my mobile number and password.

I have tried the option use proxy script, i have tried using Vodafone Ireland's proxy URL.

Some of the errors I get are:

Error Logging In
Too many recipients, even though there is only one

Please, can anyone advise ?

You could try webtexter which supports Vodafone Ireland

I installed using Ovi Store and below is the result. any idea what to select to get Saunalahti Websms service ?

My guess is that these technical strings are only shown when no translations are available for your language. I assume that you could get normal (readable) English if you temporary switch your device to English language.

Thanks it displays the UK properly now. But still couldn't get the saunalahden plugin to work.
I used wget to get the xml file and have it shown up but I can't send anything after logged in

Please be more detailed about the error. You may also start the application by commandline and copy the output.

Please also use either use our project site (https://projects.developer.nokia.com/web2sms) or send us an email to web2sms@olausson.de - I don't look at every forum where users may ask for something.

For the language thing: I assumed the system takes english when no translation is found. Since this seems wrong, I will take a look at this and fix it.

Sorry my bad for not informing about current situation.. Well I have no idea what I did but it now works... after couple of days.. just started to work :/ but yeah the naming is still in qt_* for finnish language.

I submitted a new version to the Ovi Store two days ago. When it comes available (end of next week?), the application will appear in English even if you turn your phone to Finnish. Saunalahti is also included this time.

I have updated to the newest version and "almost" all text display correctly.
Places where they don't show up correctly:
- On going conversation, the balance
- name of providers
- Accounts - new account - web2sms, namelist of providers
- qtn_betamax_label_sender and text box in any provider having this.

I have un- and reinstalled, this fixed Userdata and Balance text in the add account page. The rest still same.

Damn, you are right. I found a typo in the code which tried to load a wrong default translation for the plugins.

To quick-fix this, please replace "/opt/web2sms/plugins.zip" with the one from here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4691970/1.0....ix/plugins.zip

Had the same problem and this worked! Here are specific instructions what i did:

1. Download file above using download manager (see ovi store)
2. go to terminal and get root-priviledges (devel-su and default password is rootme)
3. rename old file with command 'mv /opt/web2sms/plugins.zip /opt/web2sms/plugins_old.zip'
4. copy the file you downloaded tothat folder: 'cp /home/user/MyDocs/Downloads/plugins.zip /opt/web2sms/plugins.zip'
5. Boot and it's done!

I'm having problem with new version, can't send any messages. It shows 'Error logging in' and sending state is failed. I'm 100% sure that account info is correct and I have push notif. enabled for web2sms.

It seems this it not related to the update since it also happens for users with the old version. Did the Saunalahti website change?

seems so, saunalahti doesn't offer sending user's phonenumber anymore. All messages are sent using their service no. No idea if this is permanent.

Quick question, in what format do we dial numbers, it always tells me no receiver!
Also, how do completely delete the App from my phone using File Manager so I can reinstall the new vesion?

Hi,

After PR1.2 and 1.0.3 update to my n9, This stopped working. I have this same issue than some others seem to have with nokia-account also:

I have tried some tricks like disabling-enabling nokia-account and boot but not helping.

And to that saunalahti-issue: My web2sms worked well with saunalahti until this PR1.2 issue. The sender just was something like '17510' rather than my own number.

Ok after I fiddled with mine it eventually worked, I deleted the Web2SMS account completely and added it again, that did the trick!

When manually entering numbers make sure you add a comma after the number so that the number gets a colored box. Numbers have to be international.

Simply uninstalling should be enough. If you want to remove it really completely, you have to delete the Web2SMS accounts while it is installed, then uninstall the application and remove "/home/user/.config/net.muhkuh/Web2SMS.conf" and "/home/user/.web2sms" (from 1.0.3 on).

The "Your phone is offline" message has nothing to do with the Web2SMS accounts. This is just the Nokia account and the push notification service. Mine also got screwed by updating to PR 1.2 and I had to delete the Nokia account and add it again.

people, remember that saunalahti doesn't send your number anymore according to their website, therefore remember to add your name to the message.

What about VodacomSA? Since they implemented this random codes to enter before sending messages :(
