I don't know if I understand your question right... but...

There are two ways that I know of to use the phone in portrait mode:

* in most applications open up the keyboard and hit ctrl shift r
* install rotatedaemon

Do note that many programs assume the phone will always be in landscape mode, results will sometimes be a tad different to what you might expect.

I think many are willing to help. I've witnessed many kind individuals giving advice to new inexperienced members enjoying their new devices. I would recommend rephrasing your question because it is not clear what you are asking. The assumption that "lenghtwise" refers to portrait orientation, but I'm not sure what you mean by "accidental".

i suggest if your english is not up to the task that you use a translator like google, that said we'll try for now...

only some applications work in portrait / vertical mode. basically you will have to learn to use landscape / horizontal mode for a lot of things and pick apps with portrait when available for tasks you do often.

There is this key combo Ctrl + Shift +R which forces applications to automatic screen rotation. Not all applications work well in portrait (vertical) mode, though. Especially not the desktop or the task switcher.

N900 is not very good with portrait mode. If portrait is critical for you, it's better to sell it and get iPhone or something.

في الامس عملت ترقيه الى الاصدار الاحدث (لم اتأكد) ولم اجد اي اصدار احدث
