[ Merge your duplicate contacts] the option is not being shown in the menu
 

Hi, I installed Merge your duplicate contacts from the maemo repo and i reboot my N900 but the option for mergin the contacts is not showing.

Somebody knows what could be the problem or how to fix it?

Did you go to: Menu - Contacts and push the button where you can get the contacts' settings? It should be there.

Doesn't show here too, type contacts-merger in terminal to launch it.

Yeah, same problem here. It worked a few weeks ago and now I cannot see it anymore!

I have installed extended-contacts-search as well and none of those applications is listed in the contacts application.
I would like to know why and how to fix it.

This looks like an address book bug that we should investigate, not sure why it stops showing plugin buttons :(

Flashed my device the other day and the button shows now.
Could be a bug.

It's probably monorail (the file transfer application). Do you have it installed?

Yes, this is a bug in libosso-abook triggered by Monorail's plugin for abook. When Monorail's get_menu_entries() returns NULL, the address book stop checking the other plugins (contacts-merger). And a critical appears in the logs:

GLIB CRITICAL ** default - append_menu_extension_entries: assertion `NULL != menu_entries' failed

I wrote a workaround in Monorail abook-funsharing/abook-funsharing-extension.c get_menu_entries() and it works fine.

Meanwhile, 'contacts-merger' can always be started from the console.

Yes it is fixed on Monorail 0.4. I uploaded it on Maemo Extras-devel but it does not seem available yet. Let's wait for the robot to finish its work correctly :)
