the nexus 1 ported to:
1.hd video capture
2.wifi n
3.hd playback

why the n900 culdn't do it to??????

It's because we don't have any other Maemo OS phone that can do HD video where as Android does. So we don't have access to any HD capable binaries/drivers for Maemo5.

Hmm. We have 800x480 screen. Any video beyond that is waste of cpu/gpu and battery. Video out is just ordinary composite out.

And about video capture. I do not care so much about pixels as i care about FPS. First i want smooth 30p video capture and then more pixels :|

and the start is: better power management on the n900.......the n900 is a block i don't need to make it bigger and Heavier with expended battery.............

1. I prefer more smoothness and WebM/V8 support over pixels. The lense isn't that good anyway. And I doubt the CCD can do more pixels. But as said, smoothness and WebM/V8 is far more important.

2. Can the hardware do 802.11n?

3. Playing HD while scaling down to fit the screen pixels is a waste of CPU and battery, IMO.

do you really thinks Nokia cares for its ex-users & will give an upgrade to 1.3 & 1.4 after the phone is dead !!!

Why would someone care about ex-users?

Also there will be quite certainly pr 1.3. But regarding this topic (about hd rec & play) i think that message is just joke.
