Which ship will you jumping into?

Just another bore off topic thread.
This time I want to know who would jump into which device and to see who still being a fanboy and loyal to the evil Nokia.

This is a game for boredom on this forum.
Which device will you more likely to buy sometimes end of this year or next year.

Contenders are:
Apple Iphone 4
Nokia - MeeGO
Droid
Symbians

Nokia comes with different light speed bullets that can be hit as many easy birds at giving time and continously deploying backup new model ships every 6months and abandoning the old ships.

Apple Iphone 4 packed with just one single giantic devastating shot but very well marketed + hype and targeting nut-case and geeks (Jailbreak), endless amount of supply in weaponary apps

The Droid! came in many different tyype of ships and guns and packed with multiple powerful scatter bombs for easy targetting different group of targets and almost unlimited supply of weaponary apps.

Symbian OS S60 : And old mothership with a lot of third world countries civilians, very cheap to get on it and easy to get to know your way around. This old type of mothership came with different pilots (Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung...) and packed with a lot of pistols and machine guns. App weaponary of this mothership came in different forms.

Yay lets the game begin! Please no harsh comments and personal attacks.

I tested N8 Symbian^3 device two weeks ago and I have to say that it was far better than I expected. There will be more Symbian devices with the Symbian 4 next year.

I voted Symbian which will be also new OS

You forgot Samsung Bada/Wava as an option. Since it wasn't represented I had to go with Nokia MeeGo instead. ;)

Isn't that now HPs WebOS?

It's still Palm's WebOS, but HP owns Palm. So technically, HP has WebOS in the middle of their Palm.

I can't believe ANYONE is voting for Symbian. I'm looking to jump ship to WIndows Phone 7, but of course I'm going to wait until I actually see one.

Why can't you believe it?

Because it's apparently hip to diss Symbian. Even in versions you have never seen or used :)

Jailbreaking makes the iPhone a geek-oriented device? Excuse me? Apple hates it when you jailbreak because it means no revenue from the App Store. They certainly don't want you stepping outside their pretty little barred garden.

WP7 looks to be pushed by MS in the same fashion, and if anything iOS and WP7 devices will be the first to apply whatever punitive lockdown measures are available.

Kinda sad how so many people seem to be rooting for extremely locked down systems for what is arguably the next tier of personal computing.

Because it sucks in every version I've used and seen and it continues to suck in all the concept art and written materials and ideas that I have seen and heard and read about future versions.

It sucks in abstract, it sucks in idea, it sucks in execution.

If Symbian 3 or 4 was to Symbian 60 as Windows Phone 7 is to Windows Mobile (that is to say a complete overhall), then I would tone down and read more and probably bash Symbian less. But its not. Its more of the same lameness, just in different shapes and colors and forms.

I root for the best product for my needs as a consumer. If they happen to be proprietary, so be it.

If PCs were as locked down as smarphones are these days, I think we would be much farther behind. Sad to see people rooting for needless hamstringing.

approx 10% of the total iOS users jailbreak.
approx 40% of the jailbreakers pirate apps.

My toughts exactly. Following "Motherships" is about religion. But you have needs, and phones that fit better or worse at them, and that should be what matters at choosing a path.

The combo of Maemo, its software, community, and the hardware of N900 made it the best so far for my current needs. But if the next device with meego won't fullfill them, i could choose to go in other direction. Is still in the future, can't say what it will bring, but won't blindly say what i would pick right now without knowing what is really coming.

I use BlackRa1n (or was it Spirit, starting to forget) and I kept my iTunes store intact. Got updates, and even got stuff via iTunes Music Store... alongside Cydia.

They'll continue to get money; they just are unequipped to support a jailbroken phone. But they can still make revenue from that phone in most cases.

Okay here, we agree. But not all phones have a public repository and a (semi-functioning) store like the N900.

Because a lot of the open talk hasn't netted much use if you're not an admin or developer. Fewer games, no Flash update, no OS upgrade, no fully functioning store. It has netted fMMS, Modest e-mail client fixes (THANK GOD) and a few other things... but not as much as the closed areas. Nor has it netted developers the type of cashflow as the other, closed down ecosystems.

Computers cost money.

I think there are more than that lol.
I would say:
Approximately 100% jailbreakers installed at least one pirated App. :D
