Blow to the N900 - A musical program
 

+ Uhm, this maybe stupid, since most of my ideas are base on the iPhone Apps :D

+ Ya know, i love Leaf Trombone app or Ocarina app, which ya can blow to the iPhone MIC, and it make beautiful sound out of the Speaker.:eek:

=> The thing is, when ya blow hard, the sound will be louder. And so when ya go easy on the MIC, the sound will be softer.

=> And with the touch screen, ya can move the tone UP and DOWN, and with the Hard Keyboard, ya can bring the tone higher or lower (Just like the + and - button in Leaf Trombone app)

+ So, please make an app like that. iPhone speaker is horrible since it has only 1. I love N900 speakers, there are 2. And i really want to make music to play on it.

+ You know, the N900 is lacking of App. But the App Store is full of idea apps. :(
+ So, why don't we mimic some app and bring it to the N900 eh? ;)
+ Don't just thinking about me asking iPhone App on N900. Let's think about make some cool app for the N900 using the iPhone App's ideas!

Try Insticntiv Music Player You can Sync with Mac Book.
Or Trew away you N900 and Buy iPod Touch+Stereo Handset and Nokia 3310 :p

+ Horrible! I'm not asking for a Sync-Able app. I need an app that when I blow to the MIC, the Speakers will make sound like a Ocarina or a Leaf Trombone!

Let's try to keep the thread for brainstorming the OPs idea please :)

MIss Maple, if you find a way to read in microphone levels and combine it with a simple ocarina/flute/pipe sound file playing, you're 99% of the way there :)

helex and MikeC were working on the problem of reading microphone input with Python and QTMultimedia, you may want to contact them to see if they found a work around for that. Combine that with the PyQt tutorial in my signature (the fart app one, but ofcourse use different sound files :p). All you got to do is replace the button press signal with a signal triggered by microphone input, then you got yourself your musical blow app. Simples ;)

How many times have I, when covering sound-desk at church, told inexperienced vocalists and speakers that the ONE thing we ask them NOT to do is BLOW INTO A MIC?!

You can blow gain stages that way. You can even blow speakers that way...

if you still want it, I assume you can read code [or contact the developers] of Babyphone for measuring noise level and of any turning-into-piano apps for sound output ;)
