Tried to install sunvox but got from app manager:

application packages missing: libgles1

Tried to: apt-get install libgles1
but got a time out from downloads.maemo.nokia.com

Any help appreciated

Solved - perhaps the server was temporary down
apt-get install libgles1 -> installed
sunvox -> installed

Now let me start learning how to use it. :)

thnx for the info. well i have one thing 2 say this is my best app i need nothing else from this phone. but i havent find a way to record while playing . when i press record some numbers apear instead of the piano .. any help?

for me it ist also the cooles app on the n900.
Now i can compose some tracks while i am in the train for hours.

Sunvox can export wav and midi. this is amazing and there is a pc version of sunvox, too:-)
There is also a toch theremin..cool!
I have never seen such a innovative gui on the n900..


Sunvox should be taken into the repositorys..

What an amazing piece of software and what a brillant GUI! Thank you so much !!!!

This app deserve a good documentation. Some videos on youtube are very helping, but I am still discovering the program. Anyway experience does the job, I guess ;)

Hit the spacebar if you want to record your note entries into the sequence , press space again to turn off note recording.

i played a little bit with this amazing instrument trying to make some techno mix..

I only can say, that it makes a lot of fun and i never want to miss it anymore..
I am making some sound design..
Synvox can make fat synth sounds by layering multiple oscillators

Thanks for the video. Would you mind making one with a simple example on how you create a basic song with the use of the patterns and how you modify the BPM ?

Hi Hec,
i am also a newbie and have to try out a lot, but later i can make more videos, but my cam(my old n95) is not good for narrow recordings.
If you want to change bpm you can go to menu (the top wrench symbol) and click in song properties there is a slider.

Add the Sampler to sound net. And then click on the Load button in the window with sampler's controllers.

Two ways.
1. Main menu -> song properties.

the sampler module is really powerful.with many settings like on a real sampler.envelope ,multi samples , loops
cant believe it..


one thing i would wish in later versions
is something like an seperate ADSR envelope module for loudness processing (similar to the sampler envelope):-) it would be helpful to shape multisynths.

Being user of SunVox since it's Palm OS version, I can't even say how happy I'm with running it on Maemo. I was surprised by amount of new features. It seems that commercial iPhone port drives the development further.

After connecting portable USB keyboard with trackpoint (having right mouse click menus comfortably at hand) it becomes a really mobile mini audio workstation. Bless the devs of USB Host Mode! And .wav samples recorded by Recaller can be used in the sampler, yay! Now I just need to find the way how to record line input via mic part of audio connector.

As far i know sunvox can import ogg..
if fillmore could export ogg i could record some vocals and put some fx on it with sunvox..

i need libgles1 so i'm guessing i need to put the above in xterm?? tried that and it comes up with permission denied and unable to lock administration directory??
i've installed rootsh( do i need this??) and do i need to restart n900?

This is so bad. This application will have worse effects on my (sex) life than my encrypted porn collection, my gf's mother coming over to sleep at our house for a week and the farting dog my gf likes to let sleep on our bed combined...

Like alcohol and tobacco, this app needs a warning message.

I am under the impression my latest comment was misinterpreted.

However, this is a lovely piece of software and incredibly suitable to my needs. I used trackers for a long time and this specific one has all the characteristics of two good programs: Buzz (which used to be (or perhaps still is) a really good modular program and Renoise, a beautiful and really powerfull track editor.

Anyway, on to the question: Is there any information available about keyboard shortcuts and such for the n900?

Of course I've seen the manual, but since we don't have F-keys and such I looked further with Google but couldnt find anything relevant.
