Locking incoming call screen to avoid accidental call reject?
Hi there,
Looking for a way to prevent accidental answering of the phone while it's in my pocket. Slide to answer would be perfect, but I don't think it's available? Otherwise, some way of locking the screen (so requiring more than just one screen press) to answer/reject the call. I seem to accidentally reject 90% of the incoming calls on my N900, and am missing a lot of important ones. Thanks. |
Re: Locking incoming call screen to avoid accidental call reject?
The screen is automatically locked during a call when the proximity sensor detects something in close proximity of the device. Therefore it is impossible to reject a call in your pocket. The screen is inactive in your pocket.

Consider the following scenario: N900 is in pocket, sensor side up. Phone rings, phone pulled partly out of pocket, so sensor is out, therefore the phone unlocks while most of the phone is still in the pocket. Reject button pressed unintentionally. |

the reject happen when you are take out of your packet and pull up the phone in some point the proximity sensor detect enough space for make the device touchable

Re: Locking incoming call screen to avoid accidental call reject?
Hi
The problem I get is that when I try to answer an incomming call, the screen cant make up its mind which way round it wants to be and swaps between landscape and portrate thus preventing me from answering as quick as I'd like to. Also on a number of occassions when I've tried answering a call I've accidently pressed the sms button and lost the call ( why is there an sms button when your trying to answer the phone ? ) Just anoying realy. |
Re: Locking incoming call screen to avoid accidental call reject?
if there is enough space to not engage the proximity sensor, then you should be able to take out your phone without touching the screen. i personally have the phone screen facing my leg so if i bump into anything nothing will damage the screen. i do this when i goto work in slacks or in jeans, but my slacks have quite large pockets.

Yes, you're right, I should be. But evidently I cant, hence my post. I have the screen facing in as well. |

Re: Locking incoming call screen to avoid accidental call reject?
Hi
Same problem here... But it happens quite differently... I have my N900 inside a Leather Case in my bag. Now when it rings I open the bag and as soon as i touch the leather case it stops ringing... The only way I have to see who called is to go in the Phone Menu and it gives me the number as an Answered Call (with the green arrow down) I can't get to answer a call since a long time... As soon as I touch the leather case no matter where... even taking it carefully from sides it stops ringing... Really really annoying.... Installed call locker but nothing changed... Any suggestion? |

I haven't found a solution yet.

Re: Locking incoming call screen to avoid accidental call reject?
Nope... It's a different behavior...
It rings... When i touch the leather case it stops ringing... When I open the case the phone is locked... I unlock it by pulling the "side trigger" and there is nothing... Not even a notification of the call... BUT if I go to the "recent calls" it shows that call and marks it as ANSWERED.. I've event tried to listen if it actually answers that call, but nothing... I'm really desperate because this beaty is becoming unusable :( Help me please! |
