this last week, my phone syncs one a day if at all. 95% of mail in my outbox fails to send and lives there forever

my kingdom for a real community imap client

I'm on AT&T FWIW. last email i got was on 8/31. i added one of the accts that are on my nokia msg as a straight up imap on modest - works fine.

nokia msg. has some outstanding push-like abilities. i often get emails on my phone before i se them in thunderbird. but the frequent downtime is a killer. it gets these strange bugs for which there is no fix and nokia support is like a big black hole.

Here in India also..its not working properly..asking me again and again for password :/ and its not pushing..nor retrieving mails..sadness.. =[

I've been receiving emails just fine today from Gmail through Nokia Messaging.

Soooo has anybody called Nokia to complain? Doesn't seem to me that they bother to frequent this place to care about your experiences. (That's what I'm told anyway.)

if you are having problems I reccomend you delete your NM account from the phone and recreate. I was getting no mail last week & being prompted for my password randomly (to no avail). A delete/recreate did the trick.

Havent got an email since monday either. I can send them but not getting them. Why oh why can't they email be solid like bb or the old sidekicks.

let me update my status: I don't receive new emails as of today, even after i delete/recreate.

It's a free service. Use IMAP4/POP3 direct connection and quit yer *****in'. If you're using GMail, imap-idle works and you'll get your email as as fast.

Been slated for server swaps during September for a while. Give it a bit.

Why does Nokia bother with services at all given they're so useless at it. Nokia, stick to giving us solid hardware and leave the services bit to those who have a clue. Dont stop with Ovi files, kill off all the other joker services including Nokia messaging which seems to have a mind of its own.

as of about two days ago, it prompted me to reenter my password and was receiving emails.

sent emails still perpetually hang in the outbox, presumably to be sent at the end of the month as per nokia messagings icrap4 protocol

and then if i forget to delete them people get a bunch of ancient emails and are like 'huh?'

So... what, still nobody's contacted Nokia to complain about these things? It may be free but isn't this some kind of a service offering?

its working here in india atleast. why dont u guys login on email.nokia.com and check if the subscription is still active. had same problem once and it showed trial period expired, had to create another id and it started working.

How I got mines back working was went to nokia messaging website logged in. Trail was still active, I deleted it and reset it back up. Than went to my phone and deleted the account. Reset the account back up on my phone. And I made sure Wifi was on while it was syncing my inbox. Now its back working.

Mine was down for two day, back for a few hours for emails to pile in, and then since yestderday hasn't been working again.

No, but I have called Nokia support for other things and.. well, it wasn't like talking to a wall--it was more like talking to a polite snob. They don't swear and they keep a pleasant tone but what tell you can be insulting and frustrating. Still, you come here to Maemo.org (you know, that's the OS right? ...the OS that CAME bundled with this messaging service and other similar defects) and told (rightfully) that this isn't the place to get support from Nokia nor that Nokia even bothers to read through these forums.

So... why complain here at all? Nokia runs these servers--has anybody called them to see what can be done, given they bungled--er, bundled this onto your devices.
