Please use the power search if you have a question and wanting answer. If there isn't any then you are free to ask. Otherwise you will clotting the forum with duplicates threads.

Hey guys, coll down here.

What maxximus said was not directed only to you but true in general as duplicate threads tend to clog the forum.
And hey its not something like "My" thread - its all of ours - your valid questions and answers and helpful to all, but understand that duplicate triplicate threads are unhelpful to all as well - and at some time it will be unhelpful to you as well.

Please don't bother posting if you don't have a valid topic. The release/speculation of PR1.3 has and is being discussed at great length. Why do we need another post on exactly the same subject?

@bsving, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to agree with everyone else on this one. There's nothing about your post/topic that makes it unique enough to have it's own thread. You should have just posted in the PR1.3 thread that is already here asking whether it has been "forgotten". Not to mention your question is pretty vague.

The Search button actually answers 99.99% of your questions regarding updates releases etc. This is a forum to enhance your device capabilities, to learn to nteract with yor device, get help with issues etc.. and not a Nokia's Consumer Relations Office.

Lets get down to the point. If you would have surfed over the web, you would have nticed that, unfortunately, Nokia has never been keen to notify the users about the specific date for updates. However, if you are seriously keen and interested about your device and have searched this forum, Meego Forum and the bugs.maemo.org, you will notice that Nokia has not given up on N900... not yet...

I dunno why people are still anticipating on PR1.3 when flashing both the FIASCO and Vanilla eMMC (The latest one's PR1.2 release) actually fixes tons of problems makin the devce much stabler than it used to be with just PR1.2 or PR1.1.1

One additional piece of advice: Nokia releases the updates extremely late for normal phones...
- N95 6 months gap between each update
- N900 3 - 4 months gap between updates
No use trollin over a company producing new models every few months.... They are trying to keep u happy as well as keep up with the competition it is facing.

I am not fond of PR1.3, as 1.2 is gettin the job done that makes me make full use of my NIT N900.

It's in my pipeline. Not sure about nokia's pipeline though.

As fatalsaint said, PR1.3's major concentration is the QT mobility.
however, i noticed that it conprised of mainly bugfixes... no new features. However PR1.2 is quite a step to perfection... just a few more updates over time and ew OS would change the entire RoadMap for N900. thats what i believe at least.

Nokia never was too keen to notify users about updates...it still isnt... and crying over it actjally never worked out on nokias deaf ears... so why waste time...

this is the same situation repeating as the anticipation of PR1.2 when there were so many same type of threads with posts above 100. PR 1.3 will come when Nokia is done... Andre Klapper from maemo org and the Nokia developers must give the go signal... cryin over it just raises the temper...lol

I did a search on bugs.maemo.org and

select * from the bugs where app is official platform or official apps and reolution = fixed and target = 5.0+ and resolution > 2010.06.01

and got 76 bugs.

More are fixed, about 150, but minus the ones that are fixed and later commented (as being still there or follow-ups), some are Harmattan, etc.

76 fixes ain't bad. Add enhancements to that and we have a winner. We're not completely out to dry.

You'll be happy to know that a grammar error has been fixed, and incorrect message, and links containing mp3s are better. Still no renaming of numbers, no slide to unlock, non-monolithic updates, none of that important stuff.

But hey, an update is an update, right? Good stuff has to be in it.
