ringtone creator
hi guys, is there a program or an app that I can use on my n900 that will allow me to edit an mp3 track and use the bit that I want as a ringtone. I don't own a pc so I can't do it that way.

Re: ringtone creator
i have a great way of doing this :)
download 'recaller' widget from the repositories and you can record system sounds :) all you will need to do is play the track up to the bit you want as a ringtone and hit record, then press stop where you want your ringtone to end ;) this is the method i use and works great :D hope this helps :) |
Re: ringtone creator
i also use this app to record from internet radio (bbc1xtra etc) :D

Re: ringtone creator
i use Free online file converter
usually on my PC running Linux, but just tried it out w/ microb (@#$%?&*! fennec doesn't allow access to /media/mmc1... mozilla more & more starts to function like m@ke$$h!t ) works perfectly. plus it allows to select intervals (00:00:00 / hh:mm:ss) top of the blues, if you do the conversion from a PC, it provides a QR-code & allows it to be downloaded a few times (from the phone, directly, thus not having to "upload" it :D ) PS: honestly, i have lost count of how many programs i could (and partly have) install(-ed) on my PC that would (nearly!) do the same as this nifty site... |
Re: ringtone creator

Re: ringtone creator
Perhaps something like mpegedit could do the job? It's open-source, and has an n-curses interface option for CLI. A QT interface would rock, but CLI would work if in a bind? It appears they have a python extension library as well, which could be good for long-term tinkering as well. If someone with the time would be willing to pick it up and compile it for the N900...
Edit: Also, depending on how you do it, there are lots of tools already available. sox, for example, is in extras-devel, which can use the trim command to trim things. Unfortunately, it's not compiled to use lame/mp3. :( But if you have a sample in wav format, or can get it there, you're good. :) |
Re: ringtone creator
i wonder if its possible for someone to port the oldschool ringtone maker from the old nokias? i know there not mp3 but would bring back some memories and their fun to play about with

I've had a look at easy debian here http://phonespot.wordpress.com/2010/...on-nokia-n900/ and it looks great. My question is, where do I get the apps that go with it? Cheers |
