I searched thru the TMO forum, they all have tons of talk, talk, talk (That's why we are called internettabletTALK :) ), all I would like to see, is exactly like the title suggests, nothing else, URLs
so please keep this only for the URLs, as far as wiki, I maintain, I just want URLs,

Chinese, there is a rectangle down on the bottom of the screen with 3 characters to the right, that is the search window, just type in your search, sure they take english, and guess and click any .apk (Chinese) if you are brave enough. Be careful, they contains alot of .jar, siss, only take the .apk

SlideMe 3.5 Marketplace, very small catalogue and crash often, be careful (have to install SlideMe.apk)

Some 'other' sources told me there is also a very big android collection on both Malaysia and India... I did not get the URLs, any of these users please chime in, the more the merrier,

That is the order of preference I used to search for my apps, of course, for the desparate ones, you can always google app.apk, sometimes something will show up.

I am thinking this is a Nitdroid, not really android, look at it as a variant breed of Android, some apk does not work is expected.

I do not want to post Android Market 1.6 (Chinese) here, but if anybody interested, please feel free to PM me, I will email you the .apk. with already registered dummy acct for you to log in. Only if you pm me with a title "I do not speak chinese", if you speak chinese, you do it on your own, dont both with me :) . Again, the interface is similar to android market english version, you should be able to navigate without the need of reading chinese.
and of course you search in english as you please

Anybody has problems with the chinese links? Really they take english or anything for search and you do not have to read chinese to get the results, the apps are always in chinese/english together. Give it a shot.

The more I play with nitdroid, the more I want to thank the nitdroid dev team.

We know how many map apps we have in maemo.

I ran over 44 map apps in nitdroid, just randomly dl and installed and put it up for fun. It has so many different version/flexibility/versatile and it certainly superior to my standalone dedicated GPS!

For a starter, here are the map apps I have tried:

Google Car Home, (it suppose to take voice order. Yes, you speak out the order, to get things done with GPS, cool)

Nav4All (Tom Tom GPS put it here, FREE. How do they make money?)

TravelTogether
Waze

Plus over 25 travel guides, Paris, Mexico, NY, HK, China, every single city in China, World subway/trains/public transportation, all this are front ends apps for GoogleMaps; they are more than just text and talks, they show you right on GoogleMaps, yes, on the maps! After seeing so many maps, hybrid, sat, streetview, traffic.... I dont get excite about maps anymore, except when I boot back to maemo :(

Typing this made me suffocate about maemo apps!

nitdroid gallery continues.... in 12 days of use, I collected 150+ apps. Lier, lier, pants on fire! Dont believe? OK, here are the pics, 20 apps per pic, and there are 7+ pics, right :-) ?

Nitdroid gallery part II, continues................ :-) I have another 40+ apks have NOT EVEN installed, probably will never look at.... Another gauge for Android apps, almost every big city in china has their android TV station app... I think I proved my point: Nokia abandoned maemo, and the nitdroid dev team picks up the batton....

hi...need urgent help pls!!

hi,please help. i tried downloading nitdroid from the application manager but it didnt show up in extras devel..and i couldnt get it by apt get...someone suggested adding a repo of nitdroid..that didnt work too...so i tried downloading nitdroid-installer_0.2.7_armel.deb from nitdroid downloads...it gave an error about 2 missing dependencies...multiboot-kernel-maemo_0.3_armel.deb and multiboot_0.2.10_armel.deb. i tried downloading and installing them directly. i installed multiboot_0.2.10_armel.deb, got a msg to update..and did so. now when i start my phone...i get a white screen with the msg 'press a key to select' it has nokia n900 multiboot written on top and the number 30 on the right.i have tried pressing all the keys but nothing happens, expect that the numbers count down to 1 and start on 30 again.the phone switches off after some time automatically...any help...whats happening?

hi..i have installed nitdroid..however, i cant use it.everytime i boot to it, the android logo shows up for a few seconds, the main screen and then i get a lot of msg which say that miscellaneous services couldnt be started and need to be closed.i have to press the 'force close' button on each msg, and when finally all the msgs are gone, the screen where it says, press the android, does nothing.only the power button works and gives the option to switch off.everything else has an error.any ideas???

Upon upgrade to 0.0.8, we lost the home screen widget to turn wifi/bt/gps/refresh/display.

After some hardwork, I found them, 3 ways to get them back:
1) mini info 1.6.0 - only 1.2.2 is around, 1.6.0. has to get it from the market, no luck for nitdroid
2) Beautiful Widgets - it came with 9 of them, you would have to do it one by one, pic attached,
3) Power controls - silly me, this is the one comes with you installation, screen>Widgets>scroll down to Power controls, you have it. Ob boy, I have been looking for this for weeks, OMG! You can forget options 1 and 2.

Try market 1st, if not, then go thread #1, I have been to so many website, cant remember where I got them from.

still doesnt work i have installed nitdroid..but when i boot to it...i get random and MANY error msgs..saying services couldnt start...seems like NONE of the services are working...even switching the phone off is a big task because of the errors on the screen! nothing works...tried to register..tried to skip registration..nothing helps..im just sitting with nitdroid without able to use it!! pls helppppppppp

Do not underestimate Opera mini, they claim to have 2500+ android only, I usually got what I want in the above search order. Anybody find anything better. I think the biggest problem is the limitation from android market... can one 'spoof' android market? Anybody?

Streaming TV, movies, news.... The subtitles are added on, i.e., the player can do subtitle. There are CBS, mobileTV and Discovery in android market

Boingo Mobile, if you dont know, dont bother. Boingo cellphone plan is $7.99 per month, i.e., nitdroid will get online with this cost when you are travelling...round the world. While Boingo notebook when away from US, to get online will cost you alot, I think it was $49.99 a month (or $59.99); and sure, maemo will have to use Boingo notebook as there is NO maemo Boingo version :(

How many apps? Look at dots on top of the screen, one dot = 16 apps, there are 11 dots.... go figure

There are 44 maps I have looked at, maemo yah right, 7 the last time I count, on nitdroid, the one I like the most is weedmap, yes, the map tells you where are the weeds closest to you.... :-)

Hi, if you are uploading these pics from your PC then the simplist way to rotate them would be to open the image in MSpaint > click Image > Flip/Rotate and select rotate by angle then save image.

I know how to rotate a pic. Thanks. But when puts it up, for some reason, the forum has its own way to put it, as if it occupies the least space, I dont know what is the rule. Suffice to say, you can have a pic upright but post horizontal or vice verse. So, I am asking about how to post it right. But thanks for the hlep anyway. Another question about posting, there is also some rule to shrink your pic, some shrink very small, some shrink less, again, I have no idea how to control it. I would like to see big big pic, but, for some format, they 'got' shrink by the posting and ends up tiny.

It's definitely not the forum doing rotations. I think your software rotates them for preview only but doesn't actually modify the file. I used WIndows Photo Viewer to rotate your screenshots.

BTW, the 1st 2 pics the chinese subtitles has meanings:

pic 1, kungfu panda "All sit down."

pic 2, kungfu panda "this time you have to pay attention...."

So take a wild guess, in this thread, who is the big kungfu panda and who is he talkin to ... uh, ha!

thank you very much.bookmarked the site.but there is one problem.
i can't go out the flight mode.if i unselect flightmode in settings it is next time back.
but i've seen somwhere a fix for that.

@bun could you put up a .akp file link to winamp or pm with one. I'm talking the new beta 5.59, i can't download from official site wont show up in Market. Have tried the market fix from Nitdroid forum with no luck. Maybe the reason is that i'm located in Denamrk?

Anyway would be nice if you could point to one or if it's possible to share your download somehow ;)

Check your PM box.

I forget where I got it, I think it is also from market, that allows one to set whatever country they want, I will look it up later. So altogether, I have the market fix, the youtube thing, and market enabler (I think it did no squat) and then this market 'setting', sorry, I really forget the name of the apk, I think it is also from the forum.nitdroid.com market fixing. That allows me to find winamp.apk. Just PM me, I will help.
