Re: cannot start my nokia n900
remove the battery for atleast few seconds or maybe a minute, put it back, charge it for atleast 2 -3 hours and start again. if this doesnt resolve issue then take to to nokia care.

Re: cannot start my nokia n900
Had the same issue a few days ago.
Completly reflashing was the only thing that helped. Greetings |
Re: cannot start my nokia n900
Is the orange light flashing or shining steady?

Re: cannot start my nokia n900
Steady light means the battery is too low for phone to boot. The hardware is performing emergency charge. Leave it for 32 minutes or so, if it's still steady yellow then unplug and remove battery for a minute or so, put it back in, plug charger in and repeat. Use the original wallcharger, don't hook it up through USB to a computer.
If it doesn't get you anywhere and you aren't an electrical engineer I'd then go to Nokia Care for help with determining whether you need a new battery or if the fault is with your n900 or with the wallcharger. |

Re: cannot start my nokia n900
I had the same thing today, and I did as shadowjk suggested - I removed the battery from the phone for about and hour (I really recommend an hour, just to be sure - because 5 minutes were not enough), then I put the battery back in and connected the phone to the charger. ONLY THEN it started charging again (blinking yellow light), and I left it charging for another hour, then I disconnected it from the charger, turned it on and after it booted I re-connected it to the charger to complete the battery charging to the end.

Re: cannot start my nokia n900
Maybe you do have some sort of a hardware failure?
I thought I had, but I did exactly as I described and the phone came back to life after that like nothing happened... |
Re: cannot start my nokia n900
I removed the battery for a night long, tried several times to start the device, tried to connect with the wall charger but nothing happend. (I am using my wall charger via an adapter bought in the store, because I am from Europe and the official Nokia charger is not compatible with the Europian plug.)
My only chance was to connect the N900 to the computer via USB and boot the computer connencted with the N900. After the computer booted up the yellow light turned on on the N900 (it was turned on through 5 minutes (!)). After a while it started to blinking in yellow. Right after this I could boot my N900 and could emergency save my photos at least... :/ Finaly I could solve this issue by I a brand new charger adapter. This whole issue with the yellow lights and with the fact that the N900 was unable to be charged was because of the wall charger adapter went wrong. ...and not the Nokia wall charger itself. Today I could try to charge my N900 with a different, brand new charger adapter without any problem. So nothing is wrong with any of your official Nokia stuffs if you are using an adapter as well. Hope this helps for you all, guys! |
