Re: Arabic anyone ??

I was thinking that someone could help me with this?

Is there no way to add fonts??

Or dose it take more than that ?

Re: Arabic anyone ??

1. Run x-terminal
2. Execute command sudo gainroot to enable root access privilege.
3. Copy tahoma.ttf to /usr/share/fonts/tahoma.ttf
4. Execute command fc-cache –f to rebuild system font cache information.
5. Exit from x-terminal.
6. Reboot the device
7. Now opera and all applications should be able to display Arabic font maybe not correctly but at least you've something to read.

Code:

sudo gainroot
su-
cp /media/mmc1/tahoma.ttf /usr/share/fonts/
fc-cache -f
exit
exit
reboot

Re: Arabic anyone ??

Since you already have Arabic fonts, this should work.

Use this link as a start:
http://qamoose.arabeyes.org/

You simply need to focus the search text field, type your text in the pop-up WEB virtual keyboard (not the one built-in), then copy/paste it wherever you want.

Well, with a few modifications to the code, you can create a web-based universal keyboard to any device. Of course, tributes go the guys at arabeyes.org.

Now with the new version of the browser based on Mozilla, Arabic's displayed properly. You can even open office documents as Google-Docs from Gmail containing Arabic text.

Enjoy!

So is it just a matter of installing an appropriate font, then rebuilding the cache? I ask because I would like to read (and write) Thai.

Re: Arabic anyone ??

Well, if you check out the code of the virtual keyboard at http://qamoose.arabeyes.org/, it permits your to use any UTF-8 based keyboard layout.

Actually, I have no idea on the rights related to the modification/alteration of their code, but, if it's open, it'll be a web based solution to all UTF-8 input layouts/languages.
