ok .. for those who fail to EMMC format, those who have tried all possibilities.

i guess you have no clue whats going on?
the emmc flash issue has nothing to dowith corrupt memory.
pls stop talking crap about things you don't know.
its ok if you don't know everything,but if newbies read can,t emmc flash because of memory corruption they think theirs is corrupt too.

I do not want to sound stupid but I think I know what I mean
so please excuse me ... if I do not want to know the n900 out of SU_GET_UPDATE_STATUS_REQ terminated with an error code 1. mformat not supported...etc

if you put the zimage from RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin you'll see that you write vanilla emmc
I mean those people who do not go with flasher-3.5 -F last firm -f and without restart make flasher-3.5 -F vanilla.emmc -f -R and the phone make loop reboot or memory format not supported ]

flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f

change kernel with
flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin' --flash-only=kernel -f

Restore emmc with vanilla
flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin' -f -R

plug n900 in usb mode and copy/paste entire partition (+hiden file from emmc) to pc

flasher-3.5 --enable-rd-mode

on xterm make: sudo gainroot; sfdisk -d /dev/mmcblk0 > partition ; edit partition adn change mmcblk0p2 id to 76; sfdisk --no-reread /dev/mmcblk0 < partition ; reboot the phone.

now:

flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R

now the phone say memory format not supported
open xterm; sfdisk -d /dev/mmcblk0 > partition ; edit partition adn change mmcblk0p2 id to 83; sfdisk --no-reread /dev/mmcblk0 < partition

now plug the phone in usb mode paste entire emmc from pc; reboot the phone;

and finaly the N900 works. if you want make:
flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f
flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin' -f -R

u know what dude. thanks so much for all this. u managed to help me rescue my friends N900. id been struggling to flash the eMMC but it kept giving me errors!!

p.s: first post on this forum. been lurking since december. i looove this phone

what can we do if the emmc is corrupted and unable to copy the files from phone to pc? just forbid it?

and system reply cannot open /dev/mmcblk0p2 read-write

This command just dumps the partition table to the file 'partition'! :confused:

What are you trying to do, because the two commands are useless if they are not in known context. Please describe the error you are facing and post some output from the terminal to show the errors you are facing.

i try a few way and it didn't work , sorry that i confuse everyone.

Just try again with the code
sfdisk -d /dev/mmcblk0 > partition

and the xterm revert back no partitions found ???

what happen?

The OS can't see the eMMC at all, so it definitely looks like a hardware failure.
