I was so impressed by how the community came together for the fonearena challenge that I know we can go for this.

You know how it works
-More downloads = more developers=more apps=more downloads

32 Million downloads at the moment
lets go for 1 Million downloads a week average, as the N900 was roughly available about Xmas 2009

Now Get downloading and testing those Apps !!!!

I somewhat vaguely assume you are talking about downloads from the repositories good sir? I've not heard of fonearena before so perhaps this is why I'm not quite sure.

1 million download a day, divided by how many active (and 'controllable') users here?

Even at 100 downloads per person per day, you need 10,000 person that you can 'coax' to do this scheme.

Developers are not stupid either. Why discredit our integrity by manipulating statistics.

Make the "leap to dishonesty"?? How about the fact that some people on the thread are talking about their multiple voting? What kind of leap is that? Does it discredit the community to say that people who say they are cheating are cheating?

And to even use that argument is demagoguery. Now is someone going to start talking about the "leap to demagoguery"? You have to spell it first...

I dont think that we can use the fonearena challenge as an example. If you read both forums it became quite apparent that the whole poll/vote degenerated into a simple game of who beats who :D nothing more nothing less.

Apologies, brain went dead this morning, 1 Milliion a week, hence the title 52Million by Xmas. :o

In the last week we've had about 1.5 million downloads, so the numbers seem to be rising quite nicely just because there is more stuff available in Downloads.
