Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
I find this quite handy to use, but is it only restriced to one instance?
I have 5 instances of this widget on my one screen, all with different currency values. ( I travel between 4 different countries in a week and have to deal with currencies from a further 3 other countries) The purpose of having 5 of these widgets on one screen, each displaying various currencies, is purely for convenience sake. But i find that they all tend to default back to the currency set up of the first widget displayed after a reboot or charging, etc. In order to make it permanent, is there a work around for this or am I just doing something wrong? TIA |
Re: Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
Hi there,
I can't answer your question, but I have another one related to this widget. I keep changing the reference and target currency, but it keeps defaulting AUD and USD. Is anyone else that is using this widget having problems with it's default values? |

thanks for the feedback. That works fine in the newer version of the widget (0.1.5) which is available as an update. ó |

I assume you tap 'Done' after changing the reference currency. Please let me know if the problem persists in the newer version of the widget (0.1.5). I haven't seen it personally so far. ó |

Thank you for the response, and sorry I didn't log this bug through the correct channel. Yes, I do select/tap 'Done' after changing the reference currency, I have even reversed the order in which I do things (and played with changing the update time and not changing etc.). Anyway, same result each time. As for 0.1.5, has it been promoted to Extras? I noticed an update made on the 22nd of Oct, but it is still v0.1.3-1. Kind regards and thanks again for your support, travla |

the 0.1.5 version is already in Extras-testing and will be in Extras once it gets 10 positive votes on. Please let me know if the problem persists and I will investigate it further. Cheers, marcin |
Re: Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
Hi marcin,
I was just wondering if there was any way to stop the flag being shown on the widget? |

Currently the flag is displayed by default. I will consider making it an option in future release. -- marcin |

It might have happened that the rate had not changed so the update was not visible. |

I recommend uninstalling the widget and installing it again, preferably version 0.1.5 which is now in Extras Testing. marcin |
Re: Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
Hi,
I installed this last night. I have a few problems. 1) Wiped all my Widgets after the install. 2) It won't update. The first instance retrieved a value. I added 5 more. Now the first has not ever refreshed, and the other 5 all say offline and never retrieved a value? |
Re: Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
Installed 1.5, great interface! I put 3 on the desktop, but only first one has value. Other two both offline.

I switched to ATT data and I was able to update them all. Didn't work except for the initial single update with Wifi as you are describing. I've seen this with one or two other appz. |

I only have WiFi, don't have data plan. But today all three are displaying the value. I hope the software can also put a flag on the right side. Found a bug: When 1.5 edition installed, reboot, it will cause widgets disappear on the desktop. |

That happens when the widget gets no response from xcurrency server. I can't do anything about it =o( marcin |
Re: Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
I'm still having problem like the other user in this thread. If I install the currency widget, every time I reboot the phone all my Desktop widgets are wiped out, and have to be re-added.
Anybody else seeing this and is there a fix? This is on 1.3 |
Re: Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
Same problem. Running pr1.3 and 0.1.5-1. Cannot start widget, it seems to crash all other widgets on the screen, everything disappears and default icons come back again.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled many times. My upgrade from pr1.2 to pr1.3 was OTA so didnt have to reinstall if that made any difference. I like this widget so much am considering blowing everything away and doing a clean flash if necessary. Hope I don't have to though. Cheers |

Re: Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
Hi marcin
Very useful widget.. In your next update, can you add Israel to the country list ? Please. |
Re: Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
Hi, just would like to add that, to me the widgets get wiped every reboot too.
But if I don't reboot, everything works fine. I Find this widget REALLY useful. I wish it could stay along with my other widgets (3x DrLaunch, Foreca, Personal Dataplan, System Info Widget, Localization and Schedule - I guess I should put Eggtime too). I'm using PR1.3 right now, but I was using PR 1.2 and happened the same thing. Hope this helps. |
Re: Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
Cool widget, thanks!
Where does it get the data? How hard would it be to make a version that gets stock quotes? |
Re: Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
My currency exchange widget 0.1.5.1 causes screenfreezing in wifi mode, in datamode and without dataconnection. I have to turn of the phone twice. the second time after I put the updatefrequency to never, it freezes whilst updating, and I have to turn the phone on and off again.

Re: Currency Exchange Widget v0.1.3-1 question
