[Live Wallpaper] Flash Wallpapers
 

Thanks to Vlad and Tanya for their great work with Live Wallpapers. I will be messing around with creating Flash Wallpapers for the n900 and figured I would share what I make with the Maemo community.

Like most of you I dont have much time, but this is fun for me an I will do what I can!

Altho I am not much of a warcraft player any more, my first desktop is made by using an excellent model viewer for the game. It is just an NPC from the game that makes random gestures.

Just got phone back from repairers so i can test and help out again,

yah.. its a bit on the slow side. still messing with frame rates. right now these animations are running at a quarter of the original frame rate. still have to tweak that and see if i can get smoother playback.

Will try and get new characters and locations up when I can.

Will try a god of war one. Anyone know if there is a model viewer that can export the animations of god of war?

I may have to get some game play videos and see what I can come up with.

the videos and background image i scowered from the internet. i just converted them and sized them for the n900's resolution.

Made another for anyone using the Okuda theme. Of course you can use this with any theme you want, it just goes best with the Okuda theme.

I turned the graphic into a clock with date display. Then there are just a bunch of random number in the lower right.

Here is one I didn't have anything to do with making.

If you like the Diablo game series or just a fan of Blizzard art. Just download the .swf to your phone and set it in live wallpaper.

Still having an issues where if you choose "one theme in all views" the background displays in all views but only is animated in the original view.

Anyone else have this issue? Any fix?

What is the point of using flash for non-interactive content? Just put the video itself there.

how did you people manage to use these flash files, for me it asks to insatall flash first... it opens app manager and then nothing happens

I think you have to have mplayer and kmplayer installed first with livewallpaper to use these.

can someone please make that fireworks flash work, its called flash-design-firework-101 and its attached there, it doesn't play and it only shows a white background, does someone knows why ??

You can set them up as wallpapers.

I think you need to have Live Wallpaper, mplayer and kmplayer installed.

There should then be a Live Wallpaper icon in your n900's settings to set up your desktops.

Updated the "pip-boy" flash wallpaper per some requests.

Reduced the number of scan lines and added in some frequency jitter.

Now we have blue, green, amber and red screens for those who may be using 4 screens and wish to have a different color per screen.

guys please keep them comming, we need more flash live wallpapers, as it turned out these are the best for a live wallpaper solution, @wakkamis keep it up dude, i'm using your blue one all my screens .
please more flash wallpapers, ore can you guys direct me to where i can creat my one, i can learn .
and if someone is thinking of creating one, carbon fiber ?? the google nexus one live wallpaper ?? the google nexus s live wallpaper ?

Not sure I understand the use of a flash carbon fiber wallpaper. What would be animated?

I like doing these when I get time for them. Figured its about the best way I can contribute to the community. Don't know crap about programing (other then some actionscript) or linux, but im learning (slowly)!

Anyway, tried taking a stab at the nexus wallpaper. There is no interactive touch where the four boxes shoot off in all directions because the wallpaper kind of chokes when there are four boxes on screen at the same time.

dude thats awesome, but for some reason cpu usage is 92 percent when using it, other flash ones, like the okuda works with less than 40 percent, its a bug .

Its doing a bit more graphically than okuda is.
I'll play with it some more and see if i can dumb it down some.

i'm having a problem. when i select a flash wallpaper it just turns the homescreen background white with a small red line at the top left of the homescreen. i've installed the mplayer and kmplayer. i've tried reinstalling live wallpaper but still the same result. i've rebooted several times but no luck. i've tried a lot of swf videos from the threads. i've tried it on different homescreens and also on all at once. the video wallpapers are working fine. please help!

p.s. i've also SMplayer and sib installed if that affects. and i'm running 6 homescreens.

Sounds like you have the hacked version of flash 10 on your phone? I'll fiddle around with the live wallpaper settings tonight.

edit: so i cheked my n900 and downloaded the alextraza wall paper. at first it just turned the background black. i removed a few apps (smplayer, bootscreen video manager, and a couple spotify apps that didnt seem to work) disabled then enabled the live wallpaper. then went through all the settings making sure catagory is set to live wallpaper and that theme is set to flash. then selected my wallpaper, waited a few seconds and the wallpaper loaded right up.

that's so nice of you to actually try it for me.

Yes, i have the hacked version of flash 10 on my phone and as you mentioned i think this might be the reason as i've tried everything else. removed smplayer and tried as well. i'll check it by going back to the older flash version and tell you.

hey wakkamis,

i replaced my flash 10 back to 9 (the same old file). i uninstalled everything that was depending on mplayer (i.e. sib, canola2 youtube plugin, canola2 tuning plugin). then i removed kmplayer, mplayer and live-wallpaper. i rebooted my device, installed kmplayer and mplayer, rebooted again, then finally installed live-wallpaper again. now when i use the flash theme in live wallpaper, it turns the background completely white. :confused:

so the only change is the red line on the top left of the homescreen is now gone and the homescreen background turns completely white. i rebooted again and tried a couple of different swf files but same result. :(

any suggestions? any other application that might be the reason for this?

ok, so i uninstalled a lot of applications. started with the ones that i thought might be using flash or mplayer. i had tweak flash plugin so i selected the default pr1.3 flash and uninstalled it. then uninstalled, sib, canola2, mediabox, ytube, cute tube, qtlockscreen, boot menu, and some more i cant recall, was just selecting through fap.

but i got the same result, goddamn white screen every time. :mad:

is there anything that can be done? any other application i should try?
