How to edit the BusyBox MOTD?
Ok folks... First off, to the folks that gonna say "if you are new to Linux" please DON'T write stuffs like that. Because you are only gonna offend your self :p
I'm an admin on MeeGoSweden.com and the owner of Meegonyheter.se and Team Contact for Ubuntu Sweden ;) Back to topic now: I wan't to edit the MOTD when I'm using SSH to the phone: Quote:
Why do I wan't this? It's real easy, I don't like the built in MOTD when I'm connection to my phone. And because I got a custom MOTD on my server and computer at home, why not have it on your phone to. And in my case, my two N900  Cheers Pontus |

That's assuming your sshd is openssh - if you're using dropbear it's a compile-time option, so if it doesn't already print it you'll have to rebuild it. Quote:

But it's the darn BusyBox banner I wan't to get rid of. Now I get both MOTD and the banner up after I login, and I don't want that =/ Cheers Pontus |

Very useful post! Thanks for you sharing. I think if you could use OBD2 tools, everything will be easy. And i found a Chinese OBD2 Wholesaler which supply cheap OBD2 tools. Thanks again!

I gave you the link where you can download the source of busybox, both the standard one installed on your N900 as well as busybox-power. If you want to do what MohammadAG said, you need to download the source code, patch it to your liking, and recompile/repackage it. |
