I cannot imagine this being caused by wifi switcher.
Probably when you use it the wifi subsystem is already
messed by some bug. You can try to reset your router,
this sometimes helps. then reinstall wifi-switcher
and retry.

I've been using wifi switcher since day one and never had any problems with it or with anything related to wifi. All connections I ever used were working fine.
I think that your problem is something else, not the wifi switcher.

well, reflash your phone and then try wifi switcher as your first app.

But maybe try the advanced interface switcher first?

Re: application wi-fi switcher crash - phone reboots itself

I actually have the same thing, and it also happens with advanced interface switcher. So it isn't caused by the apps, but rather by something underneath.

The only way I manage to switch without the reboot, is to manually disconnect from WiFi first.

So if I'm on WiFi and want to disable that, I first force the connection to GPRS, and then disable WiFi.

note: using modified kernel from titan, but posted already about this in his thread - no one else had this issue there.

No one has mentioned a hardware fault!
With my previous N900; the bluetooth would only work when you first connected, on the second attempt, BANG the phone would crash so badly that I would have to take the battery out to restart it. So strange behaviours can indicate odd little hardware faults where you might not expect the hardware.
Also try switching Wifi when connected to different routers (different makes) also try when not connected to Wifi
I would also do as kinggo recommends, a reflash, if after that it still reboots then it's hardware and Nokia needs to have a look.

Re: application wi-fi switcher crash - phone reboots itself

Routers don't influence, and this used to work fine, so I bet a reflash would fix it. However, I can't be bothered with that right now, maybe I'll reflash when 1.3 is there....
Try my work-around: first disconnect wifi, then switch off. Works fine here every time :)

Re: application wi-fi switcher crash - phone reboots itself

i have reflashed both firmware and emmc..the problem still persists..

i tried your workaround petur..but whenever i want to enable it, i got an error message about fail to enable something something..i forgot what is the exact error message..

well i didnt bother as i have uninstalled it.. =(

Re: application wi-fi switcher crash - phone reboots itself

that error would be helpful. Because I still think that wifi switcher is OK and your problem is something else.

Re: application wi-fi switcher crash - phone reboots itself

Hey guys I am new to this party too... I just encountered this problem today and wanted to find solutions for that. But I haven't yet.
I would like to contribute some actions that I performed which might be clues to solving this problem:
1) I just installed msn (pecan) yesterday client for being online on my msn from my phone taking the toll to 1skype,1gtalk,1msn accounts to go on//offline every-time now.
2) Earlier I went to "Menu>Settings>Internet Connections>Connections>"My Home Wifi"& Edit>Next>Next>Next>Advanced>Other>and set the Wi-Fi Tx power to 10mW>Save" to save power as my phone was losing battery pretty fast as I wasn't used to that behaviour from my N5630XpMu...
3) Today I was talking on skype over wi-fi and I found that I was having a low quality talk. So I decided to change the power settings back to 100mW and "Power Saving" option to "On (Intermediate)".
This worked good marvels on my call quality (as my Wi-Fi source was in the adjacent house).
But later I started to find the Wi-Fi switcher problem...
It used to restart my phone whenever I chose to switch off the Wi-Fi.
But I noticed another interesting behaviour too:
It only does so when I switch it off and then try to press any other button as soon as I did that. (which I would do previously and it would be fine)
Usually I would press on the dialog which notifies "WLAN diabled". Even doing that now, created problems. So as a remedy, I waited for that dialog to disappear and I just observed that sometimes the problem doesn't persist but other times it does repeat itself...
Final Words: My suspect: msn (pecan) client or too many wifi sign offs before wi fi switch off...
