Re: Yahoo Messenger wont connect "Netwoek Error"
thank you.
I tried uninstalling ang re-installing the pidging xtra protocols but i still couldn't access Yahoo Messenger. In fact I could't even sign in to the account. I tried accessing YM via web to check and my account was active. Skype and Facebook chat worked as well... only YM didn't. |

this happens to me every now and then, but my problem goes away by just logging into my yahoo account on a PC and LOGGING out from the CHAT and after that try reconnecting to chat on n900, this connects me to it. hope this helps you too. |
Re: Yahoo Messenger wont connect "Netwoek Error"
I also have this issue. I am not using Pidgin (the application), only the extra protocols plugin. I tried restarting my device, same problem. It happened just after the last update to this package: http://maemo.org/downloads/product/M...tra-protocols/

Re: Yahoo Messenger wont connect "Netwoek Error"
Same problem here. Everything worked fine yesterday. This morning, I decided to upgrade to the newest version and Yahoo stopped working. Is there any way to roll back to the old version?

Re: Yahoo Messenger wont connect "Netwoek Error"
Same here. Don't quite remember what update I did last night, it was 220kb or something like that and YM was working before that update (with PR1.3). AIM, Skype, Gtalk all working fine though.
edit: just tried to delete and then add the YM account. Deleting was successfull, can't add the account now though, lol. edit #2: there is an update in extras-devel for the protocols plugin that fixed my problems with YM. It's worth checking out but again, beware, it is extras-devel. |
Re: Yahoo Messenger wont connect "Network Error"
Installing from extras-devel worked for me. Thanks

Re: Yahoo Messenger wont connect "Network Error"
I had this same problem, i uninstalled then re-installed the plugins. It didn't mention it, but I also had to reboot to get the account setup to actually work the way it was supposed to (I couldn't get past "signing in").

Re: Yahoo Messenger wont connect "Network Error"
i fixed the problem by installing this package from extras-testing: http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...hy-extras/0.8/
a reboot was required. |
Re: Yahoo Messenger wont connect "Network Error"
thanks for the suggestions guys. Anybody else tried installing the package from extras-testing? I'm having 2nd thoughts about installing it while it's still there. But if that's the only way to get YM back, then I guess I have to. :)

Re: Yahoo Messenger wont connect "Network Error"
i had no problems since installing it. in any case, it's better than to install from extras-devel...

Re: Yahoo Messenger wont connect "Network Error"
Just found a bug here. While editing my Yahoo account to update the profile picture and screen name the Port numbers in the Advanced section are updated with garbage values. Editing them to have the default value (Port: 5050 and Xref Port: 80) worked for me.
