http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/ is down, and my hell spawn N900 is in an endless reboot loop. I wanted to make sure that this is still the correct URL to download images. I guess that I am screwed until Nokia bothers to bring their site back up.

Ovi Suite is still able to download the RX- package. However, I don't know if you can download the eMMC image somewhere else (which is, unfortunately, what I need)

My Ovi downloads it from http://nds2.fds-fire.nokia.com/fdp/i...ED_MR0_ARM.bin which seems to be a temporary url, maybe even bound to my IP...but have a try yourself. Or catch the url your Ovi uses with wireshark or other sniffing tools ;)

More than just the thanks button, Bzzz, thank you very much. That link worked, was really fast, and now I was able to flash my N900 and get it working again. May your boss give you a raise and your wife or girlfriend love you even more.

Oh, GREAT!...umm...have an educated guess about the fate of a student in quantum physics...

Anyway, glad it worked for you. Still looking for the eMMC image, as the server mentioned above redirects the (hopefully correct) name of the vanilla file to the rootfs image.

Alright, it still seems to be down.

And I am not looking for a N900-image but the Maemo SDK Virtual Image. Used it half a year ago and found it to be nice and easy and painless, compared to the manual install.

Any idea where to find it, if not on tablets-dev.nokia.com?

Still down - quite annoying!

I really messed up trying the nitdroid thing (which I knew was a bad idea! But I'll never learn).

Fortunately I still had the a PR1.2 images, and an OTA update did the rest! :rolleyes:

i flashed rootsh image of N900 first n its ok but when i tried to flash d emmc image it says like dis-

But what about the IMEI? since http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/ is down, where i can insert my IMEI. I must specify that i need it because i'm unable to reset my LOCK-CODE.

I had another n900 and i insered the imei on that link (on that time it was active) and downloaded that packages. now i have another n900, i can successfully reflash it but since the package contain another imei i'm unable to reset my lock-code. The master code is from that other n900, and the default code is not 12345.

i tried with xterminal. (echo root:$(grep -A 13 lock_code /dev/mtd1|tail -1))no results because after some tags i have blank results instead 'random letters".

so, there is another link to insert IMEI to download package?

For starters, http://skeiron.org/tablets-dev/ you will get all images you need without the need for IMEI... tablets-dev.nokia wont be coming back so we (the community folks) mirrored anything worth keeping. That was part of the server-move and all the banshee things we did since january.

(still not convinced of the Neo900, great idea, nice hardware upgrade, but how will the platform survive if even such basic tools are not readily available?)

These .bin files are a mix of FOSS & Nokia binary blobs. Nokia's proprietary stuff cannot be 'just shared' as FOSS could be, that's the reason why we are trying to eliminate such blobs, so that NeoFremantle may be distributed as we want.

EDIT: about flasher-3.5: we can't do anything (legaly) as it is Nokia's property & Nokia put servers with it down - we have 0xFFFF, an open-source alternative by pali.

PS: and for **** sake, people, how often do you need to download AGAIN AND AGAIN the flasher and the firmware? can't you just download it one f*cking time and keep it safe?

Nokia nor Microsoft don't give a fs#&k about some old freeware (not so freeware nowadays..) program.

Unfortunately such cavalier behaviour will perhaps not be advisable.
As far as breaking laws...copyright.. unlawful dissemination and use of proprietary data, information ...etc., without express permission of the lawful holder. It is pretty much internationally accepted as law.
Posting such links direct or indirect here on this site may involve our community in unwanted attentions. ...attentions of a legal nature....attentions we do not wish.

Instead of open defiance resulting in potentially unsavoury results at this particular time....
I would humbly suggest perhaps insisting to members who wish a link or wish access to proprietary files that they private message you or whomever else has copies or access to links and provide them privately thereby not endangering yourselves or the community as a whole.

You didn't break any law. AFAIK even posting a link THAT ANYONE COULD FIND BY HIMSELF should not pose any (legal) problem.

Nokia may not care about (supporting) us, but you can bet your 455 it does care about intellectual property.

maemo wasn't sold to M$ afaik, so I guess it's a true orphan now, since what's left of Nokia deals with network stuff like base stations and is not interested in maemo either.
