Help needed flashing n900! cant get flasher to work
 

Hi, can some one please help me?
my beloved n900 died on me so i have after reading up managed to download the flasher tool and fiasco image pr 1.3 global. I have also installed flasher on vista. When i run flasher and enter the code as following " flasher-3.5.exe -F <RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin> --flash-only=kernel -f -R" the flasher gives "the system cannot find the file specified" and i dont know what to do now.

please help sorry i am a noob.

This should do it.
removed the angle bracket.

Ok i just did that entered same code in the flasher without the brackets and pressed enter and this is what came up

flasher v2.5.2 (sep 24 2009)

RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin: %m

is it done???

why don't you just search the wiki?
there is everything you should know about flashing.

Hi sorry for the inconvenience but i am not too familiar with this stuff and sort of lost thats why i am asking for help i read and tried doing it but i'm not having any success! please help if you can it will be greatly appreciated

ok first you have a old maemo flasher version.
second it isn't done with one command.you have to change your dirextory first.
i hope you have the actual firmware image in your flasher folder?
and the last thing is if you try it with windows 7,vista 64bit or xp sp1 or 2 then forget it cause it doesn't work

According to tablets-dev this is the latest version. Where can i find the latest flasher version and what is it please? i tried again and this time it says "suitable USB device not found, waiting."

the flasher program should be called maemo-flasher3.5.
suitable device sounds promising.but like i said it doesn't work with any 64 bit machine and with windows 7 or xp sp1 or 2

Ok i just checked and i have flasher3.5 installed and have vista 32 bit and like i said it says suitable usb device not found, waiting i noticed when i press "U" key down n connect to my laptop i get nokia logo but usb port connected doesnt show up on the top right corner. What to do now?
