N900 battery life in your daily use.
I didn't find a topic bout this so i decided to make one, just to compare settings and stuff.
Ideal 250 - 700 > avg: ~15hrs EDIT: Sorry for the useless topic :p |
Re: Battery life in you're daily use.
Hi.
I don't think this is an useless topic at all. Ideal 125 - 850 ~ 12hrs |

Re: Battery life in you're daily use.
Based on the poll options you're talking about N900 only? If so, sorry to rub it in but my N810 typically lasts 4-5 days between charges with IP connectivity always on and regular email/jabber/ssh use.

Re: Battery life in you're daily use.
Ideal: 250 - 850 ~ 18 hours
I can get 1.5 days worth of usage if I don't use it much in terms of calls/media (but with constant internet access (GPRS or Wifi) and the odd message here or there). |

Re: Battery life in you're daily use.
I have been going out for a bit longer than i used to these last few days, the charge goes bellow 25% way faster than i would like (when it gets bellow 50% i start to feel unconfortable, and 25% makes me really worried)

Re: Battery life in you're daily use.
Anyone know what the random drops are? A week ago when i charged my phone at 03:00 it was at 1% when i woke up at 08:00?? I didn't leave any application on, didn't get any messages or phone calls either :O
EDIT: Also, i have noticed on my phone when the charge goes belove 45%, the voltage and precentage start to drop significally faster than above let's say 70% |
Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
I think it is a pretty useless topic, as the data is meaningless without other factors ie is bluetooth on/off, Do you use 2G or 3G, searching for 3G seems to take a lot of power. How many voice calls do you make - I dont make any during the day, how much txts? ..the list goes on ....
Jedi - surely Its "on" average not "in" average ..anyway my battery lasts through the day and I charge it ever night. |
Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
I am *not* a heavy user in terms of webpages visited, phonecalls and so on. WIFI is on half of the time (when I am at home). Bluetooth is always on.
I find that in such circumstances, on PR 1.3, my battery life extends to two days. Paai |
Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
I am getting about 10-12 hours of life from my phone with WLAN on all the time and several IM accounts running. Making phone calls or SMSing doesn't seem to make any difference. It's only if I turn WLAN off when battery life goes up.
However, I am using the default profile at the moment on power kernel. Ideal doesn't work for me, the phone starts crashing. Maybe with a little bit of tweaking of the profile I could get just a bit more battery life. |
Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
WiFi enabled, gprs enabled, bluetooth enabled etc, mine seems to last at most around 6 hours
|
Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
smart reflex on , wifi on , 10 mW , email read every hour , email widget then battery drop 1% per hour.
when the phone is not in AP range then switch to 3G data automatically ( driving from home to work and back home ) |

Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
fresh 1.3 install I get about 9 hours life.
That's with about one hour of browsing. |
Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
Since PR 1.3 update, the phone last for over 14 - 15H!!!

Any widgets enabled?? I'm not a heavy user too, I think. I use to use 3G conectivity, very ligth internet browser over 3G, very very very ligth phonecalls, wifi and bluetooth always off and just foreca weather widget enabled. On this scenario I only can catch 12 hours battery life. |
Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
Mine used to last 5 days easly, now that i installed easy debian and other crap I only get like 1.5 at most.

Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
I do also feel like battery time is much better. It now seems to use only about 2 - 5 percent when not using over night.

Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
Still only getting around 6 hours out of this phone. Very frustrating as if I forget to charge it during the day, it dies whilst I'm at the pub and then I get a hard time form the wife ......
3G on, 1 widget, wiifi OFF. Seriously, this would be an awesome phone if the battery issues were fixed! Is it a hardware flaw or is it the case that Nokia just dosen't care and wants us to buy their new N8???? Back to the iPhone I think |
Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
@haildon
What kind of excuse is this when you come home late and drunk: "the battery on my N900 died" : ROFLOL @all Just as I said yesterday my battery life improved I went to bed and even took it to offline mode. went flat in 2 hours according to battery eye. Strange. Markus |
Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
my wifi is off but I have 3.5 G all day. Always sync , my hotmail, gmail and exchange emails. a few calls in the day. Batter is as good as dead after 6 to 8 hours.

Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
EDGE always on or wifi, nokia messaging and IM on with about 30 minutes calls some sms and a little bit of Tweego I get about 24 hours. No widgets bluetooth off. Pre 1.3 it was about 16 hours.

Re: N900 battery life in your daily use.
Playing WebOS games is what eats my battery these days :) I still get a fair 10hours out of it though
