QCPUFreq
After 1.3 upgrade - does this not allow you to overclock anymore?
Can't see any update for this either |
Re: QCPUFreq
Overclocking with PR1.3 is definitely possible. (I know cos I'm doing it...)
|
Re: QCPUFreq
I had QCPUFreq installed and it had the slide bar which allowed you to overclock it - when I go into it now the slide bar is still there but yuo can only overclock it to 600mhz max

Re: QCPUFreq
Found this on the net - would you guys agree this is the correct way to go about it:
ok here goes if you already have your phone overclocked on pr1.2 and updated your device to pr1.3 but you now find you cant overclock your phone follow these steps 1. goto apps manager on your nokia n900 2. select uninstall 3. unistall all kernel enhanced power user apps and settings and also the kernel flasher 4. unistall qcpufreq ok now reboot your phone simply by turning it off and on again 5. go back to apps manager and download all kernel enhanced power user and settinga app as well as the kernel flasher 6. install the qcpufreq once they have all been loaded you need to reboot your phone again by turning it off and on when it is turned back on you need to select qcpu from your phone and it will show you that the phone is sitting at 600mhz look at the top of the screen where it says qcpu and select it. it should say enable overclocking. help and about. select enable overclocking. it will give you a warning about overclocking which is standard. now you can set your nokia n900 to 1ghz hope this helps regards |
Re: QCPUFreq
once you installed pr1.3 update, the kernel got replaced , what you needed to do was to get power-kernel back ..
you just need to type one line in x-terminal as root for this .. apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power kernel-power-modules kernel-power-flasher this is also posted here : http://wiki.maemo.org/Kernel_Power#U...ng_to_a_new_PR |
Re: QCPUFreq
So I dont need to do anything else? Even though I am already upgraded to 1.3?
I just put that in xterminal? Seems so easy it;s criminal |

I typed this exactly into xterminal and it states: Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (13 permission denied ) UNABLE TO LOCK THE ADMINISTRATION DIRECTORY (/VAR/LIB/DBKG/ ) ARE YOU ROOT? |

Read the wiki page before going any further... |
Re: QCPUFreq
Note - added sudo gainroot and I get:
temporary failure resolving 'repository.maemo.org' Lots of error messages follow ends with: E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix missing? Any advice / help guys Most appreciated in advance |

|
Re: QCPUFreq
I have now done that and got a little further. A new error has come up:
errors were encounted while processing account-plugin-salut telepathy extras E: sub-process /usr/bin/dbkg returned an error code |
Re: QCPUFreq
seems you have ******up packages ! would be more useful if you paste the output here..
|
Re: QCPUFreq
I've swtched off and on and it is allowing me to overclock now!
Should I be bothered about the error messages I posted above or think fook it - at least it works now? |
Re: QCPUFreq
Can i ask something about the power kernel, i have it installed but what do i do when the next maemo update comes along? Do i have to uninstall it or just crack on? Someone here says it gets replaced with update i assume with the stock one. True? I've already screwed ma phone up once trying to uninstall it for pr1.3. Don't wanna do it again? Thanks
