Change font in terminal

Hello !

I don't know how to add fonts in the menu "fonts" of the xterm / terminal : fonts that I added in
Code:

/home/user/.fonts/
are not listed in this menu. How can I change the font of the xterm with an added font ? Where are stored the fonts that xterm uses ?

Thank you !

It doesn't work. I think the folder of xterm fonts is not /home/user/.fonts

Same problem with the fonts I placed in /usr/share/fonts : they are not listed in the fonts menu of xterm

Place your font in /opt/usr/share/fonts/nokia and reboot.

Re: Change font in terminal

I wanted the ProFontWindows for xterm because its really looking nice and geeky, so I copied it to /opt/usr/share/fonts and then simply resetted font cache by typing
Code:

fc-cache -f -v
in Terminal...

Voila, ProFontWindows liisted in Xterm Fonts (no restart required).

Liberation mono - best terminal font, ever.

Found in:

/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-liberation

of your Ubuntu install. I'm also using Ubuntu Sans are my primary font and it's a thing of beauty.

Thx man you're right. ttf-liberation looks awesome but for me at least on the N900 font size 12 is a bit too small and size 16 a bit too large. The ProFont is just perfect for me. ;)

You mentioned you are not able to change through font changer. What error are you getting when you click on xTerminal (while its open) and then on "Font" option ?

Hi All!

It isn't working for me either - there is no error message, the fonts just don't appear when i "click" "Font" in terminal. Restart, font cache resetting, root-ing doesn't help... I've no idea... Anyone has something...?

Thanks,

jm

hi,

just for the record: when i changed the font type in the Theme Customizer to another font type, it appeared in the terminal font preferences, so i could choose that... strange...

cheers,
