Re: application manager always upgrade xarchiver

Did you check the details tab in the application manager for some more info? There might be some missing libs or some version mismatch between these repos.

Re: application manager always upgrade xarchiver

I just installed xarchiver with hildeon application manager, then tried to update both with Fast Application Manager and HAM. No update of xarchiver for me. There seems to be an issue in your package management, please show the output in X-Terminal of
Code:

apt-get install -f
apt-cache policy xarchiver

Re: application manager always upgrade xarchiver

Do you really need the repo http://my-maemo.com enabled for updates???
It holds a version that seems to be higher by name (0.46-7maemo2 > 0.46-7fremantle7)

Re: application manager always upgrade xarchiver

Re: application manager always upgrade xarchiver

Did you notice this from My-maemo.com download site for xarchiver: http://my-maemo.com/software/applica...to=1032&faq=63
Quote:

Note: This version of Xarchiver has been written for the previous version of the Maemo platform (Diablo) and hasn't been ported to Maemo 5 yet. However, since it works just fine on the N900, for your convenience we are making it available via our own repository. Other than not being optified (i.e. installing in rootfs and taking some space there rather than in the large opt partition) there are no other issues, and it makes handling archives much more convenient than using command line based tools.
Didn't quite get if you need the my-maemo.com repo really enabled.
Nevertheless you always can put xarchiver on hold
Code:

echo xarchiver hold | dpkg --set-selections
, but you have to watch for updates of xarchiver yourself from now on.
