Hello QUAKE3+URBAN TERROR

TUTORIAL





tutorial all steps

1-first quake 3 install

install ioquake and rootsh 1.8

download this file

have baseq3 folder put in n900 root ,

2-open xterminal

sudo gainroot
mv /home/user/MyDocs/baseq3/* /home/user/ .q3a/baseq3/

wait two minutes

(only move files into q3a folder, home/user/.q3a)

4- now start quake 3 comprobadlo , quake 3 say password , press enter button and enter button and ok

5- play quake 3 and exit game

now URBAN TERROR

extract folder in a desktop pc .

the good folder are q3ut4 .

q3ut4 have two important files
zpak000_assets.pk3 y zpak000.pk3

put in
home/user/.q3a/baseq3/

folder q3ut4 with other files put in
home/user/.q3a/

6- very important

into this folders exist q3config.cfg

search seta com_hunkmegs "64" and change and put seta com_hunkmegs "256"

home/user/.q3a/
home/user/.q3a/baseq3/


notes:

Some useful keys:
Fn (Blue Arrow) + Ctrl/Sym = Open/Close console. and for game write in console /quit
Fn + , (Next to backspace) = Esc (aka Menu)
Space = Jump
Ctrl/Sym = Fire
T = Talk (press enter to come out of this)
Fn + 1 = Weapon 1 (2,3,4,5, etc will change to weapon 2,3,4,5,etc)
A = Side step left
D = Side spep right
Up (On direction keys on the right) = move forward (same as tilting phone forward)
Down (on direction keys on the right) = move backwards (same as tilting phone backwards)

You can customise the above commands to how you want in the options i.e. change side step to the direction keys!



You can use mouse+keyboard with power flasher 46 +h-e-n usb host and for mouse two options

and play with mouse and keyboard i think.


i tried server mode with hotsmode dedicated NO , any stages more fast than other stages


You can play with n900 950mhz minimun or higher

you can try other games

edit new info:

for put bots

into game open console

/bot_enable 1

/reload

/addbot <type> <level> <team> <ping> <nick>

in type you can use bots name

boa
cheetah
chicken
cobra
c ockroach
cougar
goose
mantis
penguin
puma
python
raven
scarab
scorpion
tiger
widow

in level 1 - 5

for example

/addbot leon 4 red 76 =lvl4=leon

for kill bots

/kick <nick> o /kick allbots

I've been reading over their site, and I can't tell if all parts are open sourced, or if they have some of their own closed source stuff on top.

If the client is open sourced, or at least the installer works in debian and you can fulfill all the dependencies, then it should be doable... You might have to manually move **** out of rootfs after install, and symlink, but shouldn't be horribly impossible.

That said, I'm not interested enough in games to make it happen. (If I knew what I was doing more, I'd try to see if I could get it working, but I don't feel skilled enough to think that I could get it working without spending major effort on trying.)

i have urban terror 4.1 running in my nokia n900 , i will upload a video tomorrow.

i have a one error when i start a server/demo or other , i am looking it, and it is a classic error .

i tried it and here is the experience :
did exactly as above, i already had quake 3 installed with symlink to MyDocs so i installed the two big files in baseq3 in MyDocs (the 2 files are about 700 MB and thats too much to be in /opt) but the rest of files or folders are about 700 KB , the menu changed from quake 3 to urban terror and the sound was laggy but improved to great and im not OC at all. clicked on start game then loading screen appeared -- took too long -- still waiting -- the screen went black and the phone restarted itself.
i know the samipower said that OC is a must so that maybe the cause

urban terror run with n900 without overclock 600mhz

but run slow , i played with 600mhz in any stages 16fps in other 5-10fps but with overclock ever good fps

with filebox manager you can copy and paste big files .pak in q3a

two things

second i start first screen fast but when i am loading any map , yes it is very ......... seconds and seconds.... about 1min 15-20 seconds

can you shoot in urban terror¿?

i asigned other keys to shoot but never shoot.

it is rare

ok i tried it again and it worked, you can shoot with the proximity sensor just like quake 3 and open area but i've killed till now 3 trees and 2 walls, isn't there any bots (other players) ?

i shoot any times , it is very rare with proximity sensor i change weapon.

bots , ?? , not problem i installed urban terror in my pc and i am looking this .

i played with a keyboard usb , my mouse not run with hen , i will try other mouses for can play with keyboard and mouse.

yes i tried hid-scripts and patch xorg and extmou(point cursor nothing and i wrote special command line for this ) , the three programs for run mouse and nothing

i think that bluetoth are better than usb , because usb consumption higher than bluetoth . or i think it.

stages slow and stages fast with mouse i can do it, fast list stages that run slow or fast

for example stage casa slow , stage dreesing room is fast

i tried to play with mouse and the mouse run well with n900 desktop , i can move the point cursor in display but into urban terror , point cursor not move , in gamming it freeze , ,i can move any times with mouse pressing right-left keys but bufff very bad control

and point cursor to fire ,nothing not move , and in menu game i can not move the point cursor with the mouse

How is this possible? I had always thought that urt would never run on a tablet because it isn't arm compatible.

If you upload a video of this working I will upload a video of myself pooping a brick.

it runs well @ 900 mhz, sampower will upload the video soon and btw im the third person to run the game after samipower and some guy said that 2 or 3 months earlier...so get ready for some pain pooping bricks is no fun

Well, I got it working too, so far no great probs.
My N900 is at 950mhz, game is a bit laggy, but really playable.
Also could not fire tried with procimity sensor, also ctrl key.
One last thing, how can I find the older version of ioquake?
As for me, I don't have a bluetooth mouse, and the last version seem to have a better working mouse system to me.

Edit.:Changed the config file, messed it a bit, still no luck on getting atack to work...
Maybe I am wrong, but it looks like some incompability with the keyboard, cause also in the game we can change controls, and no keys work when trying to assign.

Edit2.:Could change the proximity sensor to work as change/drop weapons, and all keyboard keys work. Only fire/atack mode does not work for me for some reason...

Edit3.:Found on the net an easy way to add bots.
Made a config file, name it the way you wish, like bot4.cfg ( bot lvl 4)

and copy.:

addbot C ockroach 4 Blue 76 =lvl4=C ockroach
addbot Cheetah 4 Blue 56 =lvl4=Cheetah
addbot Cobra 4 Blue 45 =lvl4=Cobra
addbot Penguin 4 Blue 89 =lvl4=Penguin
addbot Puma 4 Blue 89 =lvl4=Puma
addbot Puma 1 Blue 89 =lvl1=Puma

When you start the game, on the first screen where you chose to go online, start server etc. enter command line and type.:
/bot_enable 1

When you start the server type again /bot_enable 1
And then just type /exec bot4.cfg

Remember save the file on q3ut4 folder.
Edit the config file the way you wish.
Also notince not all stages can have bots, somes that does
are Austria,Abbey and Dressing room, don't know about others though.

The solution for mouse not running well are , quake 3 demo windows config file change by ioquake config and mouse will run well .

and if your computer are not create any config file, try http://www.quaketweaks.com/autoexec.cfg.html

any person can upload a original config quake 3 pc demo or quake 3 full pc config ????

my pc not generated a config file

in theory with this windows quake 3 config file , mouse run well in quake and urban terror

tried it online @ 950 , i don't know if its a ping thing but the game was laggy and sometimes stops, thats why some guy shot me dead :]
if it was a lil faster somehow it would be awesome, quake 3 and open area are smooth with no OC at all..why urban terror ?

1 thing how do you lot download that megaupload file with n900 browser cause it never works for me any time i use megaupload the download now tab thing doesnt appear countdown works but then blank !
