lock/unlock you car with n900 is that possible ?

Hi guys ,

i was wondering if theres any way to record the radio waves coming from my car lock remote control and regenerate them via n900 ?

if would be cool to have a desktop applet to lock/unlock ur car !!!

This was already discussed at length somewhere on this site. I don't remember where, unfortunately.

with the IR transmitter its impossible.
but if you connect your car electrics with a bluetooth transmitter/reciever and a special app for that it should work.

A thread about this from a while ago is here:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=58257

TL : DR: You won't be able to unlock the car's built-in remote unlock system. To get any form of remote unlock via your phone, youll basically need to fit extra hardware in the car thatll talk to your phone and manually activate your locks, separately from the car's own locking system.

This would be so cool! If we could also start and drive the car from our N900 that would be awesome.

Am a programmer nothing more , so just tell me how to get the frequencies and i'll do the rest :p

i tried recording the IR signal of a citroen ax's remote control using my casio watch and it worked and i was able to open the car without keys..just the watch ;)

Any clifford with intellistart could be used to start the car, it would just be a matter of getting the alarm to take an input from a bluetooth receiver/transponder.

Driving it in the other hand would require you to fit servos to all driving inputs so they could be controlled remotely. I remember top gear converting a smart car into a giant remote control car, so it may be possible. You would of course end up with a car you could not drive yourself though.

A starting point would be controlling a RC car with the N900.

Citroën should be ashamed.

It is not necessary to fit a whole new unlocking system to the locks etc. They are simply powered solenoids. All that is required is a way to interface the remote unlock radio of the car with the N900; the rest of the unlocking system doesn't care where the signal comes from.

I assume we'd be using the N900's wifi radio?

ok , any programming codes to control wifi/bt ? i think it should be something more complec than wifi/bt as we'll be working on hw level !

things i need : any programming stuff to control any radio waves from the n900 .
a way to capture remote control radio waves ...

The N900 is almost heavy enough to smash through the car window, meaning you could use it to unlock the car in a more low-tech fashion.

Use the N900 as a wheel chock and the car is effectively secured from theft.

PR 2.0.2 is scheduled to have the glass production blob (closed source so you can only make N8 Gorilla glass with it). It overheats the battery, you add the sand through the wrist strap hole. I bet someone will be able to hack it so you can make driver side front door window glass.;) This won't be available in the PRC because of perceived threat to state security.

Re: lock/unlock you car with n900 is that possible ?

everything depends on the car, as its been mentioned infra red locking on older models were so basic it'd be easily doable. new models use rf and encryption precisely to stop this sort of thing. if you're willing to pay to have the hardware mods done to your car you can basically pick how you want it to communicate with your n900 (i'd pick something that would work on different phones too for resale value and when you replace your n900 - ergo avoid ir and rf!)

Re: lock/unlock you car with n900 is that possible ?

with a gsm module http://www.telit.com/en/products/gsm...p_ac=show&p=11 running python script inside !!! you can do anything from sms .
the module have gpio lines and can be programmed to switch car locking system
a jumping code hard breaking algorithm can be made and put on both : telit module and n900.

warning !
additional cost may be applied. kilo free sms sim recommended.
outside gsm coverage regular key must be used.
:D

i don' t need this because my car have rf perimeter key :D
