How can catorize be customised?

Ya...Preenv games are all stacked in the other section, and ovi apps are in the games section! How can I arrange them accordingly in catorise? I really am a tidy-freak guy :D

Who not use apmefo instead? :/
preenv apps are on other sections because they are not categorized by their packaging/or maemo can't determine them. Ovi apps I don't know :p
I'm using apmefo with a little patience I could recreate catorise like menu on that.

Can you provide me a step by step example on a preenv game using apmefo?

Just open apmefo... find the app on and move it to a folder you made through apmefo also... I think you would know that upon opening. It's already user-friendly

Oh, I thought you would have to edit the .desktop file, man, catorise sucks :D ;)

Not really... Catorise was made for the people lazy enough to manually arrange their menu system. apmefo is for the erm.. I forgot the english word for this... Lame me... :(

Re: How can catorize be customised?

If i remember correctly, there's an application called "Catorise GUI" in the repositories. The app doesn't change the Catorise menu structure, but you can move app shortcuts from one "menu map" to another, using a simple GUI (wasn't that what you wanted anyway?)

Anyway, i'm not 100% sure, it's a while since i had Catorise installed.

not at all, catorise rules, you just need this

@Harick, and woussie
Thx a ton for the GUI, then I guess I'm lazy enough!

Re: How can catorize be customised?

Here never know there's an app which exist until woussie posted here. http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d..._0.2_armel.deb
Only dependency you need is catorise itself.
Well it's up to you what you want. But I still prefer apmefo as I can select which Icon and Name I want on a folder. Also I can create as many as I want.

Actually, I'd avoid catorise. It runs in the background, all of the time, and uses about 4 to 5% CPU constantly. That's a battery killer.

Any way to have subfolders?

Are you sure about this?, I haven't noticed.

Yeah, first and second hand experience. When I installed it, I opened up Conky, it was always running no matter what else was open on top of it.

There have also been numerous threads of people posting about bad battery life and in the end, catorise was found out to be the cause, removing it, they reported better battery life.

Another way to move icons from Others section to Games:

sudo gainroot
sed -i "/^preenv/s/other/games/" /opt/catorise/menu && /opt/catorise/catorise

You don't need to install Catorise GUI, but need the GNU/Sed. Just run this command after installing one or several WebOS games. Or make an one-line sh-script.

Re: How can catorize be customised?

Removed the catorise, if anyone interested where the icons are located its:
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon/
just add 48x48 *.png files to use them later. make sure you dont overwrite any originals.
