???? Android version is 2.2.1 on the last image .. This is more like the latest Froyo Nitdroid release 0.0.9. Also kernel is 2.6.28. Wasn't 2.6.35 needed for Gingerbread ?

I want to completely switch over from maemo to nitdroid. I want to know:
1. Is it fully functional in terms of SMS, Calls, Internet?
2. Does battery drainage still prevail to the extent that it is unusable?

Also please give me a tutorial on how to install it on mt "eMMC"...ie completely removing maemo and running android on internal memory//!

Thanks in advance

Manan

Err..phone and sms somewhat work but you can't talk. E.g. you can make/receive phone calls and sms. You can hear the other person but they can't hear you. So no real phone calls.

You can't. Period. Nitdroid is HEAVILY dependant on Maemo, HEAVILY. So as a summary:
No Maemo=No Nitdroid

so far as i know calls and sms are still on the works.. but data connection works great:) as i observed there is a slight improvement on battery for this release.. depending on how you manage using it, i think it wont go to the extent of being unuseable..
i wouldnt dump maemo for now afterall this is still on development.. im just enjoying to dual boot anytime i want.. for tutorials just follow the threads imsure youll manage :D

people who dont have a memory card only have one option and that is to install on internal memory.
also if you install on internal then its quite a lot faster as internal has faster transfer than external
and also less heat is generated if it is on internal
but internal is a lot more risky as both maemo and nitdroid are on the same hard drive.

u can simply repartition ur internal memory so android files are separated from maemo and when u flash mamo , android still exist

Re: my nitdroid screenshots xMasDroid!!

the whole point of installing it on emmc is to boost performance..

i've observed that this release the battery last longer, it is more responsive, and is smoother than the previous, but there is something that annoys me also.. after i disable data connection and if i want to enable it again it stays disable.. unless you reboot, is this a bug or is it just me..

the instructions on the first page of this thread http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=66459
is for installing it on the internal memory along with maemo
or
is it for installing on mem card?

its both.. after you install it on sd card as per nitdroid istaller, then transfer the files to the home partition of maemo and from there modify multiboot to boot from that partition..

I need some help... I used nitdroid 0.0.8 and could use GPRS perfectly. But with nitdroid 0.0.9, I'm not able to use GPRS at all. I have set the APNs and everything seems fine. But the phone simply doesn't connect using GPRS. :( Can you please help. Thanks in advance...

try this:
1.Open the Market app (from the Home screen or app launcher)
2.Leaving the Market app running, return to the Home screen and open the Settings app again
2.Within Settings select Applications → Manage applications → Running (from Tab at top)
4.Scroll to select the Market app → press the Clear Cache button → then press the Force Stop button (Do not press the Clear Data button)
5.Press the back button (to go back to the list of running apps)
6.Scroll to select Google Services Framework → press the Clear Data button → OK (to confirm) → then press the Force Stop button
7.Return to the Home screen
8.Launch the Market app again, which will give an error "Attention an error has occurred..." → OK button
9.Shutdown by holding power button → Power Off → OK
10.Restart, wait for wi-fi to reconnect, open Market again (You may have to reboot several times and check Market)
The opening Market screen should no longer be blank, and many more apps (free & paid) should now be available. (Although apps can be downloaded, a few may still fail to install or run properly).

i copy and pasted it straight off another thread :D and it worked for me!

the first screen you mean, its just a normal homescreen, i just used battstat, music+ widget and typoclock to customize.. i like it minimalistic :)

the facebook or twitter widget actually comes with the launcher pro plus, although you need to pay a little bit to get the widgets..
