How can I switch from Middle East pr1.3 to Global pr1.3 ?
 

Hi, i want to know how i can switch from the the current firmware Pr1.3 Middle East to The global PR1.3. any ideas? i know i have to somehow flash my n900? where can i get the global firmware and how to flash it?

For some reason, extras-devel isnt working with with this version of PR1.3... i get an error that goes like.

apt-get: ignoring version from wrong domain: apt-transport-https maemo13.1+0m5

i looked around and other people had this problem.. they just reflashed...

i tried going to wiki.maemo.org, but it seems to be down.. well atleast from my computer...

i have pr1.3 middle east and all is going well, when extra-devel fails to update..refresh again from app manager and it'll work

the sole purpose of this is that i want to install the NitDROID..
and when i type:

apt-get install nitdroid-installer

it says that i couldent find the package..

Very true, even with the global firmware, extra-devel don't always work. Sometimes a simple restarting solves the problem, other times, the extra-devel server simply goes done.

I also use the ME version and once in awhile I'll get the same .. I usually just wait a little bit maybe re-boot and it comes back..I think it's more a server thing than the firmware..

but does it show that it failed to load the repository? cause it doesnt even say anything, no error comes up, but i can notice the apps from extras-devel dont show up. Then when i check the log it say ignoring versions from wrong domain...



Do you get the same problem?

i had same problem n have middle east version go to devel that failed to start open it then click save then exist n u will find application manager cheking for updates that means ur done

OK now for sure, extras-devel is working, i visited the site and it running.
Now why cant i find nitdroid-installer, when i type
apt-get install nitdroid-installer
i gt the error, unmet dependencies.. or somthing like that

now its stuck on formatting the mmc to ext3....
i have only 1GB, im guessing i need 2GB then...

ok, i finally got a hold of a 2GB memory card... but now it gets stuck at formatting the mmc (vFAT)...
