[RELEASE] Android Gingerbread 2.3.1 (Experimental)
 
Highly unstable, very experimental hangover happy-new-year-edition of Gingerbread for N900.

What is working:
- 3D
- GApps
- accelerometer && orientation policies
- lights HAL
- hardware keyboard%)
- sound
- charging, battery status indication
- modem/data, SMS receiving, USSD, calls/signaling
- A2SD
- wi-fi connectivity
- bluetooth

What is NOT working...
- codecs. Sound is almost useless, you can't listen to music etc.
- voicecalls (wut do you expect -- mediaserver crashes when ringtone is played?)
- fakegps
- UMS

Can't send SMS's yet , infact some features support have been reduced as compared to 0.0.9 .

I'm downloading at 40kb/s ... too slow

It just came out ... Everyone must be download i guess :P

and since it's experimental , i don't think it's quite stable . But i don't know i might be wrong .

whats the difference between "calls" and "voicecalls"?

is there any android/nitroid-version for n900 that works in the first place? (with "works" i mean that you can call, listen to music, use wifi, camera and all that standard stuff)

sound worked even on 0.0.8
e-yes said that only sms receiving is working
on 0.0.8 sometimes sms is working too

Just do what you always do with NITdroid. The steps are the same.
Download archive
extract archive to the right directory
reboot
start NITdroid

i have it installed and i can play music normally, and also I have the settings of the nitdroid that i had installed before (0.0.9)

works like a charm, is more smooth and fast (installed on eMMC)

Sorry, I havenīt installed any of the nitdroid before, so, how I can install this gingerbread?
And, there is any difference in installing this pure, or is advantage in intall previous nitdroid than install gingerbread? Maybe some plugins are recognizable

First of all, countless thanks for e-yes, for making Nitdroid, and for sharing it with us. We could've not do anything if e-yes didn't get along to release his work to the public:
1. People that want a partially full featured and smooth Nitdroid, I suggest to keep moving along on xMasDroid, at least until a stable gignerbread is released.
2. Installation guide updated:

Android is to whom useful? I want to raise my visitors!! Power-kernel 46 and my tune-up-script is working very good. Installation-Tutorial in my signature! Please install me!!

To me, at least, and 100's of users. What is it with that script? I can't find a single post of yours with not this mentioned on :eek:. Are you getting paid by it? :p

It doesn't have phone ability and such. Also my script is really great and power-kernel 46 and ctorrent too. I'm getting paid but very little.

Also my script works with Android too because it is Linux!!!

my problem with the gingrebread vers. is the virtual keyboard wich is too small i barely can see the letters. i did the step to fix the keyboard. in 0.0.9 the virtual keyboard worked well but now i have this issue.

and games also and root of the phone

no , the space stil the same and i mean install gingerbread on new 0.0.9 so the files of gingerbread will replcae the files of 0.0.9 and only the files which make the sound working won't be deleted as these files are present only in 0.0.9

also we need to change lcd density to 240 in /system/build.prop to have programs and games working in full screen
and also asphalt works only if u changed lcd density to 240
