What do you mean it's locked? Is the SIM card not recognized or are you just not getting reception?

Re: unlock n900 for free CANADA
If you don't mind losing your data just flash the Global Firmware (search wiki for "flashing").
|
Re: unlock n900 for free CANADA
don't think it possible at the moment(128bit encryption) or legal. lol

Re: unlock n900 for free CANADA
Your N900 is not locked. The frequencies used by Telus is not compatible with the N900, which is why you don't see the network. Only Rogers/Fido (at Edge speed), Wind and Mobilicity can work with the N900.

Re: unlock n900 for free CANADA
There's the man with the right info.(didn't even come to mind, being in u.k)
To bad US providers have this problem with frequncies. but I hear you also have 4g in some places already. |

Bell & Telus do not have the GSM/EDGE network to fall back on like Rogers/Fido do. It will not support Nokia N900. Rogers, Fido and Wind will with Edge (Data) Read this. http://www.cellphones.ca/news/post004246/ |

On the plus side, this bizarre setup should give you an out in your contract if you so choose. |
Re: unlock n900 for free CANADA
I go at Videotron tomorow and think the nice3 new fast network works find on n900.
Any videotron n900 user? |
Re: unlock n900 for free CANADA
N900 supports the following(from the wiki) :-)
GSM Quad-band EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 WCDMA 900/1700/2100 MHz, Tmobile 2100 Mhz, U.S only |
Re: unlock n900 for free CANADA
Does your old SIM (from the previous carrier) work? Or if you don't have that account anymore, try a friend's SIM from that network.
Between the two sims you didn't install the leaked pr1.2 instead of the official one, did you? |
Re: unlock n900 for free CANADA
Ok all is done!
Its not ''lock'' problem....not ''sim card'' problem. its just Telus Band and frequency never be compatible with n900 simply. I move to Videotron tomorow! 3g+ 1700 be supported. i test it the sim in the device before sign lol! Tx for all help. |
Re: unlock n900 for free CANADA
I've been told lots of the sites asking for your IMEI to unlock your device are scams to get your IMEI to use on stolen devices (when a device is reported stolen, carriers may add it's IMEI to a blacklist (somtimes shared between carriers and somtimes not), so people that steal lots of mobiles tend to replace the IMEI of the devices in order to keep them working)
