I want to start from scratch...

... using newest availabe firmware. How can I do that?

I bought my N900 2nd hand, and for example - in Application Manager there was 'search' function. I didn't like the general mess in the phone, so I 'reflashed' everything using tutorial I found on the internet. Everything is fine, but I have my doubts if its the newest availabe version.. There is no "more..." in the menu as well.

About says:
Maemo 5
Version: 20.2010.36-2

I don't have any important data on my phone now, so installing everything from scratch would not be a problem for me.

Thanks in advance!

PS. I bought my Nokia in Netherlands.

Thanks, but am I using the latest availabe version?

If so, why "search" is gone from application manager? It's such a handy option and for me it's just stupid to remove it from latest version...

Its not gone. You just have to open the keyboard and type the name of the application your looking for. It will show u that application.

Re: I want to start from scratch...

That's really bad. I have to go to manager, download, and then choose category - then it works there.. But what if the application I'm looking for is in diffrent category? Another minute wasted, cause it take ages to load the category, and then the list with apps.

Before my reflash it was much more simple.

AND is that the latest version I have? :>

I`m not sure if you are just joking, or you are really that dumb.
If you choose ALL from categories you wil have ALL apps loaded, so you can search ALL apps...got it?

If no..your N900 is wasting time with you.

You don't have to be that rude buddy. A lot of things are unobvious in N900 at first glance.

Help = my phone crashed last night and is now in a booting loop to the nokia logo. I have followed all the instructions to flash the device. I cannot get the USB logo on the screen following the instructions. I can get the USB icon on when the device is powered with the wall charger, but not to the USB on the computer. I have tried Win7 and Vista and Ubuntu with no luck. Could this be a faulty battery causing it? Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks

You better start a thread of your own for your problem to get the attention your problem deserves.
Take out the battery to let the device 'settle', put the battery in and let it been charged for at least an hour to be sure it is properly charged. Then try again to start it or to flash (not quite sure which of the two you are right now trying:confused:
Use this wiki entry for the proper way to flash your device:http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware
