Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?
warranty?!? sigh... ever heard about insurance?
(and thanks to guys who are trying to get these kind of accidents into warranty it is harder for those who really have something that is included into warranty serviced...) |
Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?
Warranty doesn't cover negligence, accidents or damage. It only covers manufacturing defects.

Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?
Thanks everybody. I will send my N900 tomorrow for repair under warranty (broken charging port). I just thought of something though... I have overclocked my N900, and most tutorials say that it will void the warranty. My question is, would it still void my warranty even if my issue has nothing to do with overclocking? Thanks for anyone who can help!

you are not the guy that can say "it has nothing to do with overclocking"... doing unauthorized modifications to hardware voids the warranty, and there is no way getting the warranty unvoided by some magical reasoning. please keep in mind that you are trying to deceive nokia if you want to get the device fixed by warranty... |

Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?
So somebody lost his N900 and got it replaced by claiming the damage done by overclocking is actually caused by a broken USB port... Would this be the correct summary for this thread?

Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?
he didn't lose it.. he was just asking if warranty covers losing his phone :(
|
Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?
Maybe the OP was planning on "throwing it away, aka losing it" because the USB port was broken and claiming another on the warranty.

Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?

Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?
Wow really people?! I am stupid? Thanks for the insult, not that I really care. For all the others who are confused, I was actually just wondering about what warranty actually covers, does it include losing the phone? My other question was that my actual phones charging port got damaged, so I was wondering if overclocking the phone voids the warranty so they can still repair it or not. I dont see how that is confusing, but if it is for you, then just shut up and try not to make an ******* out of yourself. Thanks, :)

Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?
Why would warranty cover losing the phone?
What if you sell your phone to someone, than claim that you lost it. Why would they give you another phone? Get real, its not the kindergarten anymore. I doubt even insurance companies cover that. |

a lot of people here jump on this bandwagon that if your overclock, it voids your warranty it doesn't |
Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?
Unfortunately no warranty covers loss. That would be insurance.

Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?
Unfortunatly Nokia isn't NSD, if you get a Powerball from them you got an unlimited lifetime warranty, if at any time you want replacement parts you just have to fill up a request form on their site and in a week or so the parts will arive in the mail..

Re: N900 Lost. Warranty?
Some warranties do cover loosing the product, so it's not all that absurd to ask about whether that is the case with the N900's warranty.

they just don't probably care because they change the whole circuit board and usb-connector failures are by design (=warranty). |

you 1) didn't tell everything 2) gained profit (got your device fixed) e: when you overclock, you accept the fact that you don't have warranty anymore. you have voided the warranty yourself. please read the sentences above as long as you realize something before you reply. |

"1) didn't tell everything" The next time you drink and drive (if you do), and you get pulled over, make sure you tell the officer "I HAVE BEEN DRINKING" even if he doesnt ask you! "2) gained profit (got your device fixed)" It is my right to get the device fixed, as long as it is under warranty, and every piece of information I provided is correct (Everything I asked was answered properly. So, there you have it. Dont try to outsmart people. |

*1. If you run someone over, do you stop at the scene or just drive off?
Anyway gomaemo. You are a Mobile Device Engineer eh? Since you told me, I have been totally blown away by your heroism. Wow! You are actually a Mobile Device Engineer?! Can I touch you? You are my hero, for now and for always. Lol. I still think you lost your phone, and you came on here to see if other people had tried to swindle Nokia into giving them another phone. |
