N900 installing own apps??

don't know if anyone else has had this problem (well i say problem) but my phone has installed some apps that i haven't known about. firstly i installed D4RK icons but it didn't show up in theme customizer, so i uninstalled D4RK whilst doing this power kernel for advanced users popped up asking me if i agreed with it installing to which at that point i cancelled it.
then i went back into app manager and uninstall apps bit and there it was??
now i've just installed ogg so i could play FLAC format and just noticed it also installed Tom Amp?
is this normal or should i take N900 to be exorcised??

Re: N900 installing own apps??

The N900 cannot install apps without u physically installing them on ur own...

Also neither are apps bundled with other apps when u download something you want.. So i would think ur N900 is exorcised...:p

If you don't have much data on ur phone why don't u reflash it which should clear out the mess...

I guess you cold install Faster Application Manager, it's faster and doesn't install random software on it's own.

just restore the backup you took. otherwise you have to
MANUALLY UNINSTALL THE APPS YOU DON'T WANT
*gasp*
you could vote for the bug, i'm sure Nokia will rush to fix it!

Re: N900 installing own apps??

what? you actually made a backup? that's good news!
just load the backup program under system, choose the one with the correct date, hit restore. i would only check the 'settings' and 'applications' since no need to mess with the emails or contacts or whatever else.

Re: N900 installing own apps??

nowadays i always make backups at regular intervals, i've learned it saves a lot of time and stress and now exorcism fee's lol
