Leaving the n900 :( what now?
Hello friends,
After a long and fulfilling relationship with my n900 I think it is time I called it quits. lol. Anyways, anyone can suggest a sweet alternative? I'm on T-mobile usa and so I will likely go for a subsidized android phone on their plan. |

Myabe a droid 2. Same formfactor as n900 but more up to date hardware and android.

Re: Leaving the n900 :( what now?
Yeah I just bought a droid 2 global. Waiting for it to arrive. For me it was between this and a HTC G2... and another n900 tbh.

Re: Leaving the n900 :( what now?
Buy another N900... lol
Seriously, there's no alternative, at least right now... N900 is a mobile-computer, and I haven't seen anything like it, and as powerful as it is... |
Re: Leaving the n900 :( what now?
well he didn't say the n900 is broken, maybe he will keep it.
he also didn't give a list of phones he's considering, so it's pretty hard to help. |
Re: Leaving the n900 :( what now?
Nah Ive still got the n900. I was just sick of the phone app. In terms of OS there really isnt a comparison to Maemo.

Re: Leaving the n900 :( what now?
I would buy something from HTC. They apparently have a reputation for releasing the latest software in a timely manner.

Why are people suggesting to him to keep or buy another N900 he obviously wants a new phone. I still have my N900 but bought a Galaxy S also as my main phone call sms phone.

Re: Leaving the n900 :( what now?
I would suggest an small dumb phone. For everything else the N900 is pretty good, and would be useful to carry a small computer with you.
But if you want to go to the android road, try to avoid motorola that have a bad reputation regarding upgrading the android version |
Re: Leaving the n900 :( what now?
There is no alternative, the N900 is not like the others ;)

I must be missing something. I bought the N900 perhaps by accident you could say (i.e. I didn't go looking for it) and it's obviously way over my head, given all the positivity about it. Can't say I don't like mine but equally I'd part with it tomorrow. I'm a bit miffed by it all  |
Re: Leaving the n900 :( what now?
Okay so I ended up buying a mytouch 4g - htc glacier
Got root access to the phone about 2 hours after purchase Bricked the phone about 2 hours after getting root Sleep. Exchanged the phone at the tmobile store first thing in the morning. Back to n900 after breakfast. |
