Poll: What next TMOers?
So now that Balmer has made the Pride of Finns his b|tch, what's next?
|
Re: Poll: What next TMOers?
What this should be a sign of is the rebirth of an INDEPENDENT Internet Tablet Talk. But I'm sure that the Nokia apologists will soon be back in action -- when they've adjusted to this.

Re: Poll: What next TMOers?
n900 + e71 (rebuilt after running over with a tractor) + t-mobie g-slate
that will be my devices until further notice....im absolutely NOT buying the e7 anymore as its OS has an expiration date on it already...would be a poor investment....kinda like investing in WP7.... absolutely will not buy anything else nokia until wp7 is no longer their primary smartphone OS....until they get smart enough to get rid of that....im a free agent |
Re: Poll: What next TMOers?
I'm wondering what kind of redundancies are found in this newly found relationship with Microsoft. Qt seems dead as MS 'developer tools' will be implemented, Symbian3 was already a huge question mark even before MS stepped in and MeeGo still remains an experiment at best.

Re: Poll: What next TMOers?
I voted last one but the right answer was I'll keep my n900 until death, melt and the like and THEN I'll go with smoke signals if anything changes in the meantime. So sad.

Re: Poll: What next TMOers?
If Palm brand was still alive, I would be more inclined towards webOS. As of two days ago, HP effectively killed the brand. And I am not very excited about being a HP consumer again.
When my N900 becomes very old and unusable I'll select lesser of two evils, HP and Google. Hardware, choice of dev tools and app store policies also should make my choice easy at that time. |
Re: Poll: What next TMOers?
New user here.
Thinking about buying the N900. Would it be a good idea? Guess there still will be some community support and stuff? |

If you want a cool smartphone... no. If you have to ask, the answer is probably not. |

if they can't bring these to happen, then greetings to Xperia Play. will happily to purchase you along with your little bro NGP |
Re: Poll: What next TMOers?
After what Nokia has done...Google is far from being an "Evil Empire"

Re: Poll: What next TMOers?
I picked up an Orange San Franscisco / ZTE Blade last week when in London. Cost me 90 quid on "pay as you go" for an android device with 3.5" capacitive screen, 600mhz processor etc etc.
With the help of the active user forums I quickly unlocked it, blasted off the orange bloatware and upgraded to vanilla Android 2.2. http://android.modaco.com/category/4...de-modaco-com/ What was originally meant to be a "90 quid, lets just take a look" purchase has now replaced my n900 as my full time device. I guess with today's announcement, there will be no turning back. The king is dead, long live the king. |
Re: Poll: What next TMOers?
you should have the option to keep N900 and go with webOS

Re: Poll: What next TMOers?
An E7 - Nokia make good phones. After that, likely a WebOS device when I need something really smart.
In truth, I'm tired of getting so invested in devices. But I won't pay Microsoft to screw me over. :-p |
Re: Poll: What next TMOers?
Well, in early January I bought a mid priced Android Tablet (Huawei S7). Very happy with it, although it could use a bigger battery.
When I got my N900, it significantly cut down on my use of my home computer. Since I bought the tablet, I rarely use either the N900 or the laptop at home. My N900 now easily lasts throughout the day. So, I guess the answer is evil empire, I moved in last month. However, the N900 works well enough for me, and still has some advantages over other phones, so I'll continue to use it for some time. Can't beat the T-Mo $10 dumbphone unlimited internet on it. Unless data prices change in the near future, I won't be picking up another phone. |
