I heard Toshiba makes good memory devices. And class 4 (speed) should be sufficient for mobilephone use. http://www.toshiba-memory.com/en/micro_sd_cards.html |

I've got Kingston and Sandisk uSD cards. If you plan to run Meego then go for the fastest card you can afford.

I think this is a great deal from Amazon.com (too bad I couldn't get it delivered).
http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-MicroSD-...8375246&sr=1-1 I'm not sure who is the OEM for "Nokia" micro SDs. But 8Gb class 6 at USD18 should be really worth it! |
Re: [N900] What time of mini sd card should i buy ??
Can N900 benefit if the card is "class 6" vs "class 4"?

The Speed Classes define three minimum sustained write speeds in next generation SD Cards. Class 2 supports a minimum write speed of 2 megabytes (MB) per second*; Class 4 supports 4MB per second; and Class 6 supports 6MB per second. The SD Speed Class is shown as a "C" with a numeral inside, on the card and its packaging, above and to the right of the capacity rating. Edit: The threads here have been referring to micro SD. Thanks Petur. |

Adata has a reputation of being very reliably unreliable, we shall see.... |

I only bought one (it is right here, right now, no waiting for delivery etc.), and it is just for testing. will let you know if it lives up to Adata's reputation. Things change, and not paying attention misses opportunity. sony, toshiba, compaq were on my 'do not buy' list. This year I added seagate, Toshiba is improving (glacially) and others come and go. I have used Mandriva for years - shortly I will probably replace that with Mageia. I have enjoyed Nokia products for 10 years, and now Nokia is on my 'do not buy' list - the list goes on. Just because they made junk this year does not mean I will never trust them again ever, it just means I will not bet more than the pocket change I might better hand over to street urchins. And if I find improvement then I will recognize that. just balanced common sense about the old adage 'caveat emptor'. |

I have a 16 GB class 4 from Kingston. Runs sweet.
It's let down in speed by the OS running index tracker all the time because I keep music on the SD card (I do it that way round so I can then interchange it between my actual phone when needed) |

Btw, you test them all on your N900? Or you also have a list of devices? Or are you a reseller, in this case, 'caveat vendictor'? |
Re: [N900] What time of mini sd card should i buy ??
I now have an original Sandisk 32GB micro-SDHC class 4 which is working great :)

Re: [N900] What time of mini sd card should i buy ??
Just got me two 32Gb Class 10 Patriot cards, however my card slot on the N900 is not working anymore, so I can't test it. Have not yet seen a solution posted on the forum :(. Definitely works faster transferring files on a PC USB slot.
I recommend buying the 6 o'clock kind (check the title ;)) |
Re: [N900] What time of mini sd card should i buy ??
Just got a Kingston 8Gb class 4 yesterday for less than USD18. So far it's working fine.
While shopping for my SDHC, another shop had Sandisk 8Gb class 4 for over USD30. Anyone knows why the price difference betwen Kingston and Sandisk? Both were class 4, brand new, mfg in Taiwan, with 1 adaptor. Any experience with performance issues? Or is it just because of branding or pricing strategy? |
