Re: help: problem in USB port

Does it charge if you plug it in when powered off? Have you tried using a Linux boot CD and flashing it there (it's more reliable than Windows for picking up the USB device)?

insert cd to drive in your pc,

power on your compuiter, insert ununtu live cd, pres F2 or F11 or F8 (i dont know which key is attached to select boot order in your pc) , select boot from CD/DVD and wait, ubuntu will load from cd ... when u restart pc, pc boot normal from hard drive (windows).

Re: help: problem in USB port

In ubuntu U got a top bar with files like : Applications, Places, System. Open a Place tab and you will see a Nokia N900 (it is an internal storage of your phone)

Re: help: problem in USB port

http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_t...firmware#Linux here s a wiki file of flashing in Linux,, You need a download flasher tool for ubuntu, flash image (same as you use in windows) and follow the instruction

If your external charger does not charge the battery then for sure you have either dry joints on the usb port or it has detached itself patially and if you wiggle it very carefully and it starts to charge then all you need to do is get the port soldered back onto the motherboard before it breaks off completely, there is a HUGE thread about all this and is the most common problem on the N900..

i've weld the charger socet because it has broken and grabed out of the motherboard and after i have weld the socet the charger worked normaly , but recently the charger stop working despite that the socet is in his place since i've weld it
