sudo gainroot
umount /card
fsck -a /dev/mmcblkxpx
mount /card

A filesystem check deleting your data?
Boy...

I did everything but nothing special happened?
when i enter umount/card it says no such file or directory same thing with mount/card and fsck -a /dev/mmcblkxpx?

Re: how to fix this problem?

Actually you must type this, if you have issue on N900's internal memory:

sudo gainroot
umount /dev/mmcblk0p1
fsck -af /dev/mmcblk0p1
mount /home/user/MyDocs

This is the same as anthonie posted, but he didn't specify partition/drive (he wrote just "/card").

Re: how to fix this problem?

Eh. Perhaps obvious but I ask anyway.

You did replace the word "card" with the specifics of your card, right? The same question applies to the "x-es" in the fsck command.

On purpose, actually. As I had no way of knowing how the FS on his machine is and OP didnīt provide any details on that. So I tried to be as generic as possible, assuming he would figure it out anyway. :D

I just predicted where he had the issue, because I also had it once. ;)

@Leon4
I'm not "power user", but if you have all your data (videos, pictures...), I think you can delete all these .rec files without any concerns.

Leon4 2011-03-12 17:40

Re: how to fix this problem?

@Kolos the files are FSCK0000.REC-FSCK0120.REC so there is 120 such REC files but they are not so large everyone of them is about 64 kb it is not so much, so probably I shouldn't delete them...

These are files recovered by the fsck utility, you may want to try and find out what they are before you delete them. The "file" utility (which is a command-line program (you'll need to install it with "apt-get install file" as root)) should be able to tell you the type of file they are, after installing it you can run "file /home/user/MyDocs/*.REC" to run it on all the recovered files.

EDIT: If they are only 64KB they probably aren't important, but you may want to check anyway.

@Haxnage

If I understand you right, your phone doesn't recognize cellphone network and you're unable to make phone calls? Am I correct?

Haxnage 2011-03-13 01:16

Re: how to fix this problem?

No, i can do calls and send sms, but not detect any network connection by wi-fi and 2g/3g network, it show the message "network no available", the rest bluetooth, gps, file manager, app manager and x-terminal dont work properly...

kolos 2011-03-13 11:00

Re: how to fix this problem?

2G/3G network needs proper settings. Wifi needs network in range. Do you have these two conditions fulfilled?

What's wrong with File manager and x-terminal? Describe it more.

App Manager is useless, if you don't have network. At this point you can only remove apps.

You described that you flashed device twice. Maybe you made something wrong already at this point? When flashing firmware (PR1.3) and eMMC together, firmware must be flashed first and after procedure is completed, then must be started eMMC flashing.

So, first do:
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f

and then
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R

It's hard to help you, because we can't see you phone "in action". The best way to check things is, if you could find someone near you who has working phone and compare everything with him.

Haxnage 2011-03-13 15:36

Re: how to fix this problem?

Let me see if could explain better...

Fine, the no detect any network or modem 2g/3g.

File manager donīt open the cell memory.

X-terminal donīt accept any command, neither "sudo gainroot" and nothing.

The app manager, kolos you are right, only could delete apps but the app is very slow to start.

I flash the divice to resolve the problem, which to show suddenly, i think than i did how you say twice but without positive results.

I try find connections in place with wifi network availables, free and locked but donīt detect its, neither the modem inside the cell.

I dónīt know than colud be, i think than the antenna chip is broken... and another chip/processor is fail.

@Haxnage
More than you im afraid i dont know anything.But did you ever activate your GPRS connection?

kolos 2011-03-13 16:43

Re: how to fix this problem?

@Haxnage

"sudo gainroot" requires installed rootsh (v1.5 or v1.8).

Did you try any memory card (microSD) if File manager recognize it?

Do you still have valid warranty? If you assume hardware malfunction, than your options are clear, send it for repair or sold it for parts.

Maybe you can connect it with PC. Right-click on the file, and set properties to remove the read only option.;)
