Hey guys...
I really dont get this idea .....why divide & create more threads...most of the time all of us face the same kind of problems & situations...lets face it we all get bugged by our n900 sometime or the other, no matter we are Indians Americans or from any other part of the world!!! We all are in this together!!

Re: Nokia N900 Owners from India

there are quite a few N900 users in india and nokias support for n900 is limited in my opinion.. had a problem when i first bought it. gave it to nokia, they just flashed the emmc and the image and gave it back to me

FYI
any problems with ur phone not hardware related post on the blog and u will get your answer... always works for me

cheers

Re: Nokia N900 Owners from India

so here we are (hope this is going like "n900 user from philippine" thread)
i don't think there will be too many user from india, because indians are not like geeks or hacker friendly people( i am an indian too)many people like here "easy to use" phones. hmmmmmm you may be trying to prove me wrong!

how many people in india are using skype video calling as compare to us?????

and the answer is "very few or almost equivalent to none"

any devloper from india???? OH i have to go!!!!!sorry

Re: Nokia N900 Owners from India

I wouldn't say that Indian's like to use 'easy to use' phones
doesn't India have the most University Graduates majoring in technology and stuff along those lines??

Re: Nokia N900 Owners from India

from india too:p
First time I had problem with my N900 And i went to a customer care for repair they told me my phone was not from india and was imported. They themselve didn't knew about N900.
Then I went to main customer care but they just used clean device from settings instead of flashing it from pc.
I had to flash myself by reading wiki

Re: Nokia N900 Owners from India

Yet another Indian N900 user from God's Own Country, Kerala! I wish there were more of us N900 users here. Its quite lonely. I dont get to share my hacks and tweaks with anybody near me. As a result, I now spend more time on TMO than FB!!

BTW, I second the taking-over-TMO part. I mean, the 21st century is the century of the Chinese and Indians (and maybe Brazilians) but I don't see any Chinese around. So I say, lets take matters into our own hands and take over TMO. If this thread was a bit early, we could've started this process by flooding the Maemo Council candidature with Indians. But, oh well. Lets try for the next term :D

Ykho 2011-03-19 18:41

Re: Nokia N900 Owners from India

hate to disappoint you but i'm chinese and so is a user by the name of "9000" XD
i'm sure I seen a few others aswell, so looks like taking over will be a joint effort =D

Re: Nokia N900 Owners from India

reporting from Kolkata, had the phone since i pre-ordered it last dec from the US...never needed any warranty from nokia, hence cant comment on that aspect...but if anyone needs help will be glad to be of assistance...although the prospect of running android is whats attracting me more than meego to be honest...kudos to the NITDroid team..

Re: Nokia N900 Owners from India

hey guys, m frm gwalior... the support for our n900 is jst ok here. I bought two n900 frm US last yr, one for my elder brother and 1 for myself. I jst love this phone. But I've got a big touch panel issue with my handset. Somehow I jst made a big scratch on the main screen, I didnt used any screen protectors n sometimes it really sucks coz its very less visible below that scratch, its right in the middle of the screen :( . So now what nokia guys told me is that I have to get that touch panel replaced by them, and they are the only one to do it at a price of Rs.3000. So I warn u all to plzz protect ur handset's screen.

During my recent visit to Kerala, I tried charging N900 using the stock Nokia charger adaptor (CA-146C) and it didn't work out. LED stayed lit amber initially and then it goes faint blinking red

But I remeber it did charge using the same adaptor earlier when in New Delhi.

Hey guys i was wondering if you could offer some insight as to why the numbers 11 51 101 501 are considered auspicious in Indian culture. google only tells me these numbers are auspicious but doesn't offer any explanation as to why....

I'm an international Business student and I need to carry out a workshop about Indian (Goa) Culture.
Thanks, much appreciated

Re: Nokia N900 Owners from India

11,51,101,501? I didn't know they were auspicious. Maybe coz 11 and 101 is primes? I have no idea. Anybody else wanna take a shot at this?

I know 13 is considered unlucky...

Hmmm, that is intresting. I use the nokia stock AC-10 charger just fine. I also use the adapter occasionally. Did u try in different places in Kerala?

and someone disagrees(my erlier post in page1) when i said "indian like easy to use phone"...... as we all know here in india many people don't know how to speak english, so how can they use N900?

Dude, I disagree with you too. We indians are at the forefront of technology and education the world over. But the problem is lack of exposure to Linux. Thanks to Microsoft's policy of windows in schools and rampant piracy, nobody is familiar with linux, but loves the 'free' windows! Thats why there is the apparant behavior of loving to use easy phones.

If people were more familiar with linux and its flexibility, there would be more users (I repeat, we are NOT dumb). I know plenty of university computer science graduates who are geeks, yet they have only a less-than-superficial understanding of linux.

Am from Hyderbad. This is my first post. And thanks to community for great updates.. Proud owner of N900 for almost 8 months now Have Nitrdroid installed in it and ofcourse CSSU.. Looking forward for Meego. Everything feels great about this phone. Though im noob with respect to Linux, the love for N900 made me go linux way. I have Ubuntu on my Laptop now and its great.
By the way herez a tip for music lovers. If you feel your Nokia speakers WH205 is horrible, go for Sony MH610 headphones. They work well with respect to Audio as well as Phone service. I was lucky and got one for RS200 in Jagdish market (you will know this place if u live in Hyd).

How good is the google maps coverage in your area? Modrana uses their tiles and is pretty good.

BTW my family come from near Navsari, Gujurat, although I was born in England.
