Re: Bootscreen manager
In Xterm type
Code:
rm /home/user/.cache/launch/com.nokia.controlpanel.pvr Re-open the Settings app - The Settings app will then regenerate a new image so when you open it a second time it will show up quickly and with the correct contents for the settings you have. Close and re-open the Settings app to see the corrected result. |
Re: Bootscreen manager
I think some of the file traces are not removed from file system.
Is there any (GUI) file manager with root access so that I hcan further explore it and remove the file traces of bootscreen manager. |
Re: Bootscreen manager
Hello JonWW,
Great :) It worked. But can you please tell me that are there any traces left behind when we remove the any application from n900. suppose if we remove any application from windows desktop machine and when we browse programe files of the installed loaction of th application there we see files which are removed and then we have delete it manually. Is also the same case with n900 because I dont know that how maemo/Linux os works? |

Why dosn't Hitesh have a Thanks button? Do you have to be a member for a certain amount of time or do you have to post a certain amount of posts? He is the second member who I have seen who doesn't have a Thanks button: yamakasi - although he had one once! |

Re: Bootscreen manager
"It is possible to edit hildon-welcome. A howto is available here. Examples: "Open source. Open heart. Open future.", "The Power of Open."
To insert your own video follow these instructions (from the link above thanks to VDVsx): 1. Copy the video you want to play to /usr/share/hildon-welcome/media 2. Go to /etc/hildon-welcome.d/ and edit the default.conf file or create a similar one (the videos will play by the alphabetic order of the .conf files)" I don't have any file in /etc/hildon-welcome.d anymore after i have used the bootscreen manager =( |

who needs a _smooth_ boot video anyway? Use the N900, don't just look at it! |

Boot video is an interesting component of the device. The default video is signature of the manufacturer, and possibly advertisement. Ability to personalise it is one of small freedoms which each user should have - like changing theme of the operating system, or replacing a stock application with an alternative, or changing ringtone. Best wishes. |
Re: Bootscreen manager
Solution:
Apt-get purge hildon-welcome No more laggy bootvideo ;) |
