Cut and Paste

Is there a clipboard utility for the 770? Also, how would I change the font size on the desktop or in Opera? Thanks.

Encourage them to find the answer for themselves instead of expecting other people to do the work for them.

Honestly, is there really room for your negativity? A forum is for helping out others and asshats like you ruin the fun and drive traffic away from the site. "Expecting other people to do the work for them"... are you really doing any "work" at all? If you already have knowledge to an answer, what "work" is their to do? If you don't know, then simply don't post.

He's not asking you to do it for him, he's just wondering.

Most of your posts are "search", "look around", "its been asked", why even bother responding? Just don't say anything, and if the original poster doesn't get an answer, he'll probably start digging himself.

I see you have your definition of a forum. Unfortunately, I have a different one and in my view asshats are the people like you who are too damn lazy to do a simple search (in this case "cut paste") to find the, more likely than not, *obvious* posts which covered this (in this case "Cut and Paste?" Thread from two months ago).

Yes, he is asking us to do it for him. The answer has been given, many times, on this board. He is just too lazy to do it himself. If people were encouraged to look for the answer themselves first a lot of useless threads could be avoided by not repeating things that have been said before. Hate to break it to you but this is the general norm around the internet. God forbid people actually see if the information is already there before asking.

Realizing that 8000 people bought a 770 last week prompted me to to start a little thread here to help prevent hundreds, if not thousands, of questions being asked that have already been answered before. So far it has over 3200 views (a hell of a lot of questions answered). Why don't you try looking at it and perhaps contribute something yourself before you give me a holier than thou attitude and proper forum decorum and how I'm not being helpful.

There is an opera tips post in the Nokia 800 forum that covers the question about opera.

Well, I am amazed at how much resentment can be expressed in a short time by such a simple request/ Yes, I did queary "cut and paste" but that string didn't answer my question. I'm looking for a small clipboard program. By the way, I did read your thread and benefitted from it. Probably an wxtra 10,000 or 20,000 tablet users is good for the entire community. Are you suprised we don't know as much as you or you afraid we'll never learn enough to be able to ask an intellegent question?

Neither. I- I just want to encourage people to check the forums first before asking questions.

So you're looking for an actual application that can cut and paste?

I might be wrong but I don't think you're going to find one. Multitasking on the 770 is not exactly it's strongest area and I can't see there being a program out there for this (assuming that's what you want).

Specifically, you're looking for a generic clipboard manager app? We could probably cross-compile something, but nothing along those lines exists currently.

"specifically, you're looking for a generic clipboard manager app?"

It just seemed like a useful little app. I'm suprised no one's come up with one.

Well... what with all the testosterone hitting the fan an' such, the poor newbie still hasn't got an answer to his questions.

1. The 770 has a clipboard built in, but you need to have the keyboard or HWR panel open to access it easily. It's the icon on the left that looks like a sheet of paper with an arrow to the side; the three top menu choices are the classic clipboard options.

2-a. The font size of the browser can be changed in two ways. The easy one is to use the zoom keys on top of your 770; easy, but you need to repeat it for every session. The hard way requires that you install an x terminal and the means of becoming root on your 770 (and if you don't know what that means, I strongly suggest you do not try the hard way!), get hold of an editor and edit the mce.ini file. If you search for mce.ini, you should be able to find a short howto I posted on the matter in this forum.

2-b. The font on the desktop can, AFAIK, only be changed by creating a new desktop theme, or by copying an existing one with a bigger font. There are a few of those hovering around on the interwebs, but you'll have to search or ask someone else where to find them.
