How do I downgrade Titan's kernel from v46 to v45?
 

How do I downgrade Titan's kernel from v46 to v45? I want to downgrade it because I'm sick of not being able to use my phones camera.

Just to make sure, is v45 the latest version which allows the use of the camera and fcam to be used with no bug, errors etc? Ever since I installed v46 I have never been able to use my camera or the lights as a torch.

I have QCPUFreq installed and I would like Uboot back.

Noob friendly answer please :).

there was an answer for your issue in the power kernel tread, it involved reinstalling Fcam or installing a new version of it made for v46 or somthing like that, look it up

camera works fine with 46. All you need is latest fcam-drivers from extras-devel.

I not sure what to do. I really want to keep my contacts and data safe. I have 2000 messages and 4000 songs on there. And stupidly I recently moved my back ups from my memory card to the default memory storage on the device. Gahhh! Argh! I'm pretty close to breaking here.

Watch out, kernel power 45 integrated u-boot by default and was quickly removed because it was buggy and could render your phone unable to start.
Check the forum about that.

flash your kernal only to fix the restart loop, uninstall f-cam and f-cam driver too, then install kernal 46 and f-cam again

yes flash your phne with kernel only option and it would boot up. you csn use the pr image to flash but make sure you use kernel only option. once that is done you can install the power kernel...

wow, i only did it once long time ago and i can't remember how exactly, but follow this :

see which operating system on your computer and do as it says,
don't forget to charge your battery first to full or so and remember you just need to flash the kernel only not eMMC and get the latest update pr1.3

Go there : http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php to download the image (fiasco, pr1.3)

Then, go there for instructions : http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware
You don't need to reflash the emmc, just do the fiasco image
Follow the instructions on the wiki, the command to reflash is :

sudo ./flasher-3.5 -F <firmware-image> --flash-only=kernel -f -R

That should get you back on track.

Yes, as AgogData said, make sure your battery is fully charged. That's important!

So....

1. download and install maemo_flasher-3.5_2.5.2.2
2. Then put RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.203.1_PR_COMBINED_203_ARM.bin in the folder %ProgramFiles%\maemo\flasher-3.5\
3. Make sure device is off and fully charged.
4. Run maemo_flasher-3.5_2.5.2.2
5. Plug the device into the computer via USB whilst holding down the "u" key.
6. Run command flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.203.1_PR_COMBINED_203_ARM.bin -f -R
7. Allow to finish and restart phone??

Is everything right? I'm from the UK.

I won't lose my Messages, Music, Media files? What will I lose?

I believe it's step 6 before step 5.
The command needs to be run before plugin in the device.
The rest is correct.

EDIT : My bad, under Windows, step 5 is done before step 6 as the wiki says.

Thanks. Will do. Think I read somewhere that I will lose the programs installed. I don't mind that I just need to keep music, messages and contacts.

That's correct, you will lose your programs. As for data, I don't remember because I always had a backup.

i don't think he is gonna lose anything (programs, games, names....) cause he is only gonna flash the kernel. I don't recall losing anything rather than reseting the clock when i flashed the kernel.

Everythings working!!! Whoooo. I have never been so on edge in my entire life!!

One problem is I can't view my default memory in file manager and music player doesnt show music. Messages and contacts are still there. but the 27gb partitions isnt.

Nevermind I decided to reboot the device, hoping it would solve the issue and it did! Whooooo. Everythings back except programs. Now for some fun installing!

Dunno about installing Kernel yet though. I'm on edge as it is. Maybe I'll wait till I've had some sleep

flash rom alone would not erase your messages and songs. Just leave the eMMC alone.

Its all done now. Everythings running but I need to do my settings and programs again and ooooo since you literally just reminded me. I'll back up now..... and restore.
