New Business Venture

I just sunk my 401K retirement into a new business venture. I hope I did not make a huge mistake.

Are you going to tell us what the venture is or are we suppose to guess?

I assume it is meamo related if it is this forum?

Yes, I have invested in a product that drastically improves the transmission and reception of WiFi signals. I believe I will make millions, I am set for life!

Thanks, man, we've spent hundreds of hours testing the product in the greater Los Angeles area here in southern California. I am presently waiting for my web page designer to complete my website.

Risky **** man, betting your 401(k) (for those not in the know, a very very basic summary is a 401(k) is a category of plans in the USA for saving money for your retirement, more or less. Since wikipedia knows all http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/401(k) )

That said, I wish you luck and success, so long as your intentions with the direction of this venture aren't heinously unethical.

A while back, developer Nicolai finished off my most valuable app for my N800. It's called mgCal. I hope that many thanked him by donating what they could.

I did all the research, looks like a "sure thing".

Odds are, you are sunk. You'd have better chances going to Vegas and betting everything on red. Still, good luck.

Business is all about risking. If you don't risk you don't gain. Where is the higher the risks then it will be higher return.

You are so right! That is why I convinced my mother to also invest her savings. She only had $17,400.

@Den in USA

Sound promising.

If you'd like to extend your venture into China you may find me. I can line you up with major telecoms and their corresponding VC in Hong Kong.

Lots of people have lost lots of money following exactly that strategy. The best thing is to be lucky. Invest in real estate when the market is up up up and pretend you're a genius. Try to take a shortcut to Asia and discover a new continent.

Better yet, earn money the old-fashioned way: inherit it.

Maybe, though he is from Cali, and it would un-ethical to get an IP address along the Daytime Meridian and post from there...hmmm!

Any case, I started a business in Sept of last year (it was doing what I already did in my job though) and things are going well.

Actually, if anyone would like to risk a lot of money and thus maybe make a lot, I have an idea that can't fail, involving text-to-speech publishing. PM me for details. Investment: less than a million!

A couple of years ago I shared with the forum my experiences as a professional ballroom dancer staying in Blackpool for competition and no one disbelieved me!

I figured that someone needed to lighten the mood of the forum. I still think that my N800 is my most valuable piece of electronics!

I would love to see Nokia come out with a 5 inch NIT that has Skype with video and a decent GPS receiver. I really never needed the cell phone feature.
