How to make more that 5 partitions on microSD?
 

Hello guys!
Can you please help me to repart my nokia n900 sd card?

I was trying to do that via my ubuntu11, but have no chance..i can do only 4 primary partitions, but i need more that 5..WHY? - i just need it, dont worry.

So now i have nitdroid on /dev/mmcblk1p2 and *k1p1 vfat..

My msd size is 16 GB..

Lets do
dev/mmcblk1p1 vfat - any space..
dev/mmcblk1p2 - ext3 - 4gb
dev/mmcblk1p3 - ext3- 4gb
dev/mmbclk1p4 - ext3 - 2gb
dev/mmcblk1p5 - ext3 - 2gb
dev/mmcblk1p6 - ext3 - 2gb

can i do
sfdisk -uM /dev/mmcblk1 <<EOF
,,C
,4000,L
,4000,L
,2000,L
,2000,L
,2000,L
EOF

?

i think theres a limitation of 7 in total.

Use 1 logical partition as an extended partition and stick all your extra partitions in said extended partition.

Also, gparted.

Ive made 1 extended partition with (4gb/4gb/2gb/2gb in it) and 1 Primary partition with 2 gb...
So now my ubuntu working on it..

Or i should use 1 primary and after that 1 extended with 4 in it? =)

You'll need to use GPT (does power46 even support this?), or use LVM.

@eL.ectron1k: I cant see the picture, imageshack's "Domain Unregistered" comes up. Can you use a better image host such as goput.it instead?

Yes, that would be right. A fat32 partition to make Maemo STFU without editing critical system files, and the rest partitioned off for OSes.

Now, does multiboot detect extended MBR partitions? I guess you'll have to try that out.

So nitdroid is working...it's untared to /and && fixed {EXT_CARD}$p2 to {EXT_CARD}$5... :)

My mistake...autoinstaller used k0p2 / i changed in installer cfg to p5 - that reinstalled and it works. Not i'm installing Debian, tommorrow will try ubuntu...

guys...anyone knows how to install ubuntu 10.10 / not 9.04 on our nokia?
I know that mayad made that, but there is arabic language...=(
Maybe you have english / deutsch versions?
