If one would exist, how should it hand over the results to Google? The logo stuff could be done with OCR (for simple logos). Btw. what happened to tesseract? ( http://forums.internettablettalk.com...ight=tesseract ) |
Re: scan photo
Couldn't this be achieved via geo-tagging?
Take the pic with geo-tagging enabled, then submit the resulting GPS data to a search engine and away you go. I reckon you could also do it if the building displayed a QR Code on it's sign. Just like you would when scanning product bar codes with mBarcode. |
Re: scan photo
No, I think he's referring to Google Goggles. As far as I know, its Android only. The image gets uploaded to Google and the OCR (or image recognition) is done in the cloud. Don't know if it works with NITDroid, but can't see a reason it wouldn't. Anyone care to try?

Re: scan photo
I stand corrected.
wikipedia: On 5 October 2010, Google announced availability of Google Goggles for iPhone devices, that run iOS 4.0. Try NITDroid... |
Re: scan photo
Nokia makes this product, it is called Nokia Point & Find. But it's not available on Maemo, only Symbian.

Re: scan photo
There is one from MIR that can do OCR/translation, but it's not on-the-fly like Google goggles, and it's text only (not image recognition).
