Request to Nokia: Trade up Program?

I know this request is unlikely, and I make this request with no illusions that Nokia will do something thats not in the best interest of their bottom line, but HERE GOES!!

This was my first Nokia Product, and over all I am 99% THRILLED with my N900. Like some N900 have already found out, (and pobably the rest of the n900 users will in the future) there is a serious design flaw in the micro USB port that with normal use it will become damaged. Recently I experienced this and was very disappointed.

The though occured to me with the new N9/N950/RM680 device coming soon, would Nokia consider a trade up program where you can trade in your N900 for the new Hartman device at cost?

Ok rant over what do you think....

Questions answering time:

Trade in up program? How much would you want off the new "Hartman" device to trade up?

How much would you pay for a re-engineered permanant fix for your broken micro USB port?

Would you even consider another Maemo/Hartman/Meego device from Nokia?

I think if you own an N900 and are a Maemo.org member over one year, you should get a discount of about $200. We deserve it for the USB debacle.

So I should break my usb port in order to have a discount for the next meego device? No way! :D
Debian > Redhat for personal usage. :p

Lets hope your port doesn't break in the future so you won't need a discount..

If the n9 doesn't have a keyboard, would that not be a trade down...

Feeel the vibratory stimuli sensations & "our next sense" n950 is something unique with innovative technology before anyone else. Rumours Apple have license the sensegs haptikos electro vibration sensitive Haptikos hardware tech like display for their new IP5.

It's actually Heartman, as in Nokia's alter ego as a Mexican pro wrestler.

Harmattan trade-up program would be a nice, except

1) I'll never trade my N900 away, until they pry it from my cold dead hands,

2) refer to no. 1

No worry, Elop will offer a trade up.

Bring in your N900, and get a brand new Windows Phone. Extra for tmo members it will come with Ballmer's autograph!

Actualy my ideal preference would be:
Gentoo > Debian > Redhat
Really hate the rpm.

Re: Request to Nokia: Trade up Program?

Why do you think this will work?
Anyone within Nokia proposing such deal would put his job at risk.

Sarcasm/wit much? No? Ok.

Answers:

No and no.

Yes.

None taken.

edit: a more elaborated answer is: I would say no to said trade-up program as I believe there is no successor to the N900, but just a tamed version of a "what-could-have-been". I will gladly spend my hard-earned dollars on a N9 - if it ever arrives - but would never consider giving up the N900. Too much g**damn sweat and tears involved to have it just traded for a shiny candybar.

It won't I ain't using it except on very2x special emergency cases... Uhm once every 3 months?

And if they were to trade my n900 for a Bugatti Veyron maybe I could reconsider :D
